Leclerc came from way back for Perez to actually be aware of him. And it still was some half of meter inside I think.
No way Perez's fault.

Gutted about losing those 3 drivers, I was so excited for this race.

A few people are suggesting that Verstappen might have not realised it was gravel and thought he could just floor it through there.

Though Russell's chance of winning has actually increased - with Verstappen out Mercedes surely won't need to impose team orders to secure 2nd in the WDC for Bottas'?

If Russell wins this

A) It makes Bottas look like a journeyman

B) Lewis looks over rated and diminishes his achievments

All IMHO.

Bottas is very scruffy at the minute and making lots of mistakes. He isn’t handling the pressure well

Though bear in mind Bottas struggles to overtake midfield cars, nevermind another Mercedes. I would take the result with a pinch of salt.

Perez supposedly has an old spec floor according to Will Buxton. He could still challenge for a podium but also could just get stuck in a DRS train.

True, but if a newcomer in a new car can come in and spank you handily it makes you look very undeserving of your seat.

Bottas - meh.

AND an old engine. DOTW candidate for sure if he gets a good result here.

I wouldn’t say Russell is ‘spanking Bottas handedly’ so far. He got the better start and has built a gap which has now closed slightly. Russell is doing a great job so far but this is far from over.

If Russell wins it's a great story and great for him but I'm not utterly convinced it's great for Formula 1.

George is exposing Bottas here... Even if Bottas ends up winning you know Hamilton would have qualified a couple tenths ahead and would be well ahead of George in this situation.

Also makes me wonder how much Bottas gains from being able to look at Hamiltons setup and telemetry, because I am a huge fan of George and he is a great talent, there's no way Bottas should be letting himself get beat

Lol what a joke...The definition of domination has been rewritten by Merc...To call Ferrari and Redbull dominant is a farce if you see what Merc has been able to achieve.. More than 120+ races of having the best car in quali and race by a mile

Hamilton took it right to Alonso as a straight up rookie. Bottas is hardly Alonso, but perhaps Russell is just bloody good.

Indeed, any excuse to diminish Hamilton of course... Personally seeing how lost Bottas is (look how close verstappen was to them in quali, shame we will not be able to see in the race) without being able to copy Hamilton shows the Vue of having a strong team leader

Perez extents a good gap and he may even overcut Sainz for a podium here. But when is the F1 community finally going to appreciate Sainz? I suppose maybe next year...

Maybe... but who's to say Leclerc won't smash him?!

2021 is super fascinating given where the top drivers are sprinkled and the new match-ups.

I think Sainz will be just fine though, and a reliable points hoover for Ferrari.

You're literally rewriting history, just as the Merc has been dominant (except for 2017 and 2018) the red bull and Ferrari were both dominant as well

I inferred that the Mercedes have been way more dominant than those Ferraris....

Agreed. I respect Hamilton's achievements, but Schumacher had nowhere near the same level of domination as Mercedes. And Schumacher sacrificed a few years at the front building the team to create that domination.
