2020 is starting to feel like the last hoorah in terms of classic F1 tracks.

I'm very frustrated that Interlagos will be replaced by another bog-standard F1 track layout, when we have all these marvellous circuits that are so unique and historic.

Whatever about the way F1 is heading in terms of hybrid cars, or corporate-backed teams, the most sacrilegious change that is ongoing in F1 is the change to Tilke-designed car parks.

It's a shame that they couldn't try to fix the underlying problems of the local area around Interlagos, rather than pumping millions into a new F1 track that does more harm than good.

Last time I have been in Brazil (2018), the crime rate was about identical in Rio and Sao Paulo. And Bolsonaro personally agitated for the new Rio track and against Interlagos.

I don't see practice sessions on ESPN2, like before. Does anyone know where we Amricans can watch the Friday sessions, times, etc?

No practice tomorrow. I think there's one 90min session on Saturday.

Yeah reports of Portimao to Imola being too much for a back to back and also talk of local licensing laws. Nothing to do with testing another format.

Albon does have a point, you don't really get faster by going over kerbs, lose a lot of traction.
But you exceed the white line with 10 cm which is silly IMO.

Definitely its the law. Driving an HGV lorry for 48 hours non stop seems a certain way to ensure the same ends up at the bottom of an Italian Alpine valley!

Its supposed to be the new format with increased races so that F1 teams get some sort of life. Another reason why the increase will be counterproductive and reduce interest in my view.

(BBC 5 live commentators also thought it was a Liberty trial of format.)

I think it's more due to Italian COVID rules than the distance, although the driving in turn meant that a full weekend would have been tight. Liberty figured an extra day and an easier drive was worth the compromise, as well as running the short weekend experiment in the process.

I like this.

It should not be hard for drivers to stay on the track. Treat it like Monaco and you know you will never be punished. All drivers that get their times removed are obviously going off track too much. I would actually like it if they used this more often than they did.

Shouldn't the same be said about Kimi in that case? Really can't say he's been much better this year. People have given quite a lot of praise to Kimi at times this year, and Giovinazzi is there or there abouts. I think he is at least decent now and has more potential to improve yet more than Kimi obviously. He's certainly a better driver than he was last year.

Kimi has the excuse of being on the way down, Gio almost matching a long past it Kimi doesn't strike me as being the kind of qualification for an extension to his contract.

Perez is not doing well in terms of following the rules. Blocking in Q1 and getting a perfectly quick time despite having yellows in sector 3. I'm not convinced he lifted one bit. Feel he will get investigated for some of this.

If Red Bull managed to fix this in time, it will set another example this year that Red Bull are very likely the best team at staying calm under pressure and getting on with it!. You can't say that about Mercedes and strategies getting messed up, they panic and mess up.

The 'previous poles, Italy' graphic they just showed, spelled Räikkönen's name correctly! Why can't they do this all the time? And, while they're at it, ask commentators to pronounce it correctly?
