Reading that report it appears they have signed a title sponsor to replace Martini, so in that respect they are doing better than McLaren :D

One thing most people forget is that Williams has lucrative partnerships within the automobile industry where they supply components and systems to automotive manufacturers. They also supply the batteries for Formula E, so on the business side they are doing well. Claire and Co. however are careful to not rely so heavily on the successes of the Technologies division so as to not suck it dry.

I hope they get a real title sponsor to replace Martini, as well as many others in order to bring in enough capital to compete in the development race throughout the season.

They've ditched their smooth sweeping line down from the cockpit to the nose for a more abrupt slant the likes of Ferrari and Sauber.

I've taken a screen capture for you guys to see.

From pretty good source I know that this is an old car (not sure which one exactly, might be even mix a front wing and chasis from different years) and on 11th they will only show new livery but it will be most probably on 2018 car. The new one will be revealed in Catalunya

If that's true, the only car it can be is the 2018 car (see the resemblance, but the dip in the nose in this image still feels a bit more gradual than the 2018 car.

When comparing the racesuits from 2018 to 2019, it looks like Toro Rosso's livery will get going darker shade of Blue, similar to Red Bull.

So Toro Rosso just posted this tweet of the new Honda engine starting up:

It still sounds like a bag of nails even after all this time.

As the article says'

"focused solely on BAT's potentially reduced risk products and grounded in technology and innovation".

So technically not the in the cancerous ciggies area but, as claimed, "on areas including battery technology and advanced materials".
Very similar to Mission Winnow.

I've always wondered why Marlboro didn't buy a ciggie lighter business & sponsor Ferrari as "Marlboro Lighters"
Races since last non RB, Merc, Ferrari winner (After Britain - 20) - 142 & counting.( Last win, Lotus, 17/3/13)

Non RB, Merc, Ferrari podiums won in Hybrid era - 372 trophies available, 27 won

I was thinking the same. Mission Minnow is blasted for being a PMI trick, but BAT can get into F1 without an eyelid batted? When I hear British American Tobacco, I do not think of battery technology and invention; I think what is in the name, TOBACCO!

F1 is pathetically inept and seems to have little moral backbone.

It is finding any excuse to accept money, let alone the arguments above these companies are based on the exploitation of tobacco which has indirectly killed hundreds of thousands of people prematurely.

Verstappen: a token punishment for a bullying offence. Basically tacit approval.

On track incidents: FIA have shown no appetite for any sort of meaningful sanction even when track infringements have been blatant.

Grand Prix seem quite happy to exploit women for promotional reasons.

Have to say that Nico Rosberg is right when he says F1 cant ignore electric, but it will, I've no doubt. I really love the racing but F1 is simply being an ostrich !!

Sorry if this is an unpopular observation but where is F1 going?

There are many good points here, even if I do not agree with all. But I think there is another thread that this should be moved, the one discussing the future of F1.

Saying BAT will be on the car is like saying Phillip Morris is on the Ferrari. BAT will be putting one of their non tobacco products on the car just like PM have Mission Minnow, until we see the logos we can't really comment fairly on how fine a line they are treading with regards to tobacco advertising...

Looking forward to Racing Point's reveal.

Merc and Red Bull will no doubt be the same as they have always been.

Ah, forgive my oversight :smug:

Shouldn't the Merc be unveiled by now? Unless my CET to GMT conversion is wrong, it should have been an hour ago... :?

Looks to have the same serious rake as Renault, same nose as Macca & something weird with the front wing with the plates stopping half way out to the end plate.

Surely thats just a testing front wing.

Can someone much smarter than me explain what the hell is going on with that Alfa front wing? I know they said it would be a radical design but I didn't know they meant this radical. Has to be a loophole they think they can exploit or something?

That Alfa front wing is different then every car launched so far. is this something better? Not being an Aero person not sure what to make of this. If this is an advancement that others dont have perhaps we see this on Ferrari Friday? Maybe they all have them when testing arrives next week? These launches are nothing more than Livery Launches these days...very frustrating for the racing fan!

Watching Ferrari launch, its ugly duckling with all the branding, but I do like matte paint job. Just hope its fast. It does look like they showed the car with fake diffuser and very simple wings. But visibly very similar to last years car. Though it did had noticeable rake.
