No I don't believe it's happened before but it's by far the smallest entry I've seen so I guess that increases the chances of it happening.

By the way I believe KMag got a penalty so that's going to change the results slightly.

Ironically I accidentally put Sainz 9th when I first did the scores, only caught it when I saw Uday's self-assessment. I'm in the process of editing now.

Haha I don't know how I've managed this so far. I stopped playing this competition the past few years, but used to be pretty awful when I played it before then. My luck will surely run out soon.

Thank you, no idea how I missed that! Sorry donr
I've been off on picks all year, but thanks for thinking of me.
On Friday the forum link was trying to take me to some football forum sight. You may want to check it out.
I think practice had already started so no worry about penalty.

I got the FP3 Penalty because the site was down. Is there anyway to lodge a formal protest? Otherwise I'll be backing out of the championship

donr, that was a communication error between techies

Bentrovato, unfortunately there's no way we can prove you didn't benefit from the knowledge of practice, so the penalty stands. I'm not the FIA and you're not Benetton!

Haha if it was the FIA I'm sure I could pay someone off j/k

It really isn't fair though (I even scored poorly regardless of the penalty), therefore if the penalty stands I will be withdrawing from the competition. Feel free to remove me from the standings going forward.

Gentlemen, I am aware of frustration, but rules are rules. Maybe someone had a local connection problem on a given day but it's just bad luck. No pretensions to normal regulations.

For me on that day it worked until FP1 (as always), if not - everyone would be in the same situation ...

I see what you're trying to say but it's not really the same thing. If someone's local internet goes down, it's an issue on their end. If the entire forum is down, it's not the users fault at all.

Technically, page 1 does say "In case the forum temporary closes during a race week and you are unable to submit your entry, your average score from past rounds will be used."

Why say that in the regulations if it will not be honoured?

It was down for me, it was down for someone else, and P-F1 Mod also acknowledged. I'm not sure why you are saying what you're saying.

At least P-F1 mod said he wasn't sure we could prove I didn't benefit from the practice session knowledge and since I scored next to last place, I obviously didn't. This is getting a bit silly.

I was just in the open forum a few minutes before FP1 started and therefore I think someone had a local connection problem which is unfortunate. That's all.

This has come up before (people missing the penalty deadline for circumstances outside their control) and the consensus opinion among participants has generally been that you have a whole week to file predictions, and nobody is making you wait until the last minutes before FP1.

That said, both of the people in question would have the lowest two prediction scores from the round even with the penalties eliminated -- so I personally find that a persuasive argument that they did not benefit from filing late predictions.

Thank you for sound reasoning. I understand we have all week to enter predictions but it's a free and fun competition, I enter my picks before FP1. The site didn't work for me, but it wasn't just a couple people saying it didn't work. The site was actually down, it's just what happened. Page one does stipulate what should happen if a user can't enter picks due to the site being down. It doesn't say "you had all week to enter picks", it says it will the take the average so I don't get the discrepancy. I had the worst score anyway! I don't know, I think we could have done better here.

It's just a but off putting when people like K.F. act that way. Most here are better people. Been on here for 8 years, met some good people, had some good fun.

Anyway, not worth discussing it any further. Enjoy the season fellas.

If P-F1 Mod agrees I propose to remove FP2 penalties for guys who threaten to leave after 8 years. (donr was in the same situation but did not threaten ...)
This is a bit of a surprising reaction for me after speaking on this subject and I now regret it.
Good people...not too good people.
I will never speak again about the regulations. I like this game and fun too.
