Interestingly, while there's only 17 points between the top 2 in the championship, there's also only 23 points in the battle for rookie of the year. It'll be interesting to see who wins both battles. The rookie fight is more or less a straight head to head now, while there is a mathematical chance of anyone in the top 30 claiming the main prize - basically, if Bentrovato scores a perfect score and the rest boycott the race, it's a narrow championship win. Realistically, there's probably only 3-5 who are likely to win, but anything can happen yet!

More realistically, the top score for any given race tends to be less than 200. Nailing the perfect score would yield 300 points, so anyone down to 14th place is in with a realistic shout if they nail their predictions, even if the leaders don't boycott the race!

Re: PF1 Pick 10 Competition - 2019 Edition (Interlagos Updat
However, if everyone boycotts the race, they should be receiving minus 58 points for missing the FP1, 2 & 3. So everyone getting negative points, could make it even more interesting. So I'm still in for the win!Siao7 wrote:So I'm just missing out then!!!P-F1 Mod wrote: there is a mathematical chance of anyone in the top 30 claiming the main prize - basically, if Bentrovato scores a perfect score and the rest boycott the race, it's a narrow championship win.

That's not quite how the penalties work, but I like your thinking!Siao7 wrote:However, if everyone boycotts the race, they should be receiving minus 58 points for missing the FP1, 2 & 3. If we wanted to seriously boycott the race, we could all wait until after FP3 and then predict the 10 drivers we think won't be in the race. That would be pretty likely to produce negative results.P-F1 Mod wrote:That's not quite how the penalties work, but I like your thinking!Siao7 wrote:However, if everyone boycotts the race, they should be receiving minus 58 points for missing the FP1, 2 & 3. That's true, in theory it's possible to gain 275 points per race relative to the leader.Exediron wrote:If we wanted to seriously boycott the race, we could all wait until after FP3 and then predict the 10 drivers we think won't be in the race. I hadn't considered that... OK, everyone's entries won't be counted but penalised at FP3 rate. Siao7's entry is the top 10 in Abu Dhabi.
Siao7 ends up joint 19th in this scenario!
