I've just done an edit, just about everyone beat me so scant consolation I'm afraid. :(
I... I'm still not last

In fairness this was a shocking race in terms of general results. Gasly let a lot of people down. Ricciardo and Sainz should have done pretty well (ignoring the latter's qualifying). Alfa were impressive. Haas had a shocker. Toro Rosso were slow but snuck a point with the driver perhaps least expected to get it. And the top 5 was messed up.

Round 1: Melbourne, Australia

The start of the race saw pole man Hamilton beaten into the first corner by fellow front row starter Bottas, Leclerc also managed to get passed Verstappen but then got slightly squeezed off the track by 3rd placed driver Vettel which allowed Verstappen back into 4th place.

The only incident at the start was Ricciardo being forced onto the grass by Perez, the uneven ground ripped off his front wing which was replaced but further damage had been done to his car which lead to his retirement.

At the front the cars held station, a combination of looking after the tyres plus the track being difficultto pass on, Leclerc was struggling to keep up with the lead cars then a trip across the grass dropped him back even further.

Ferrari pulled the trigger early on for Vettel bringing him in for the medium tyres, Hamilton responded a lap later also onto the medium tyres to fend off the undercut. The other lead cars stayed out and with Bottas still being the fastest car on the track he was held out for a few more lap without fear of an undercut, he also put on medium tyres.

Verstappen pitted much later also for medium tyres, such had been the slow pace of Hamilton that Bottas now had a substantial lead and Verstappen was close behind Hamilton and Vettel on tyres 11 laps fresher. This enabled Verstappen to pass Vettel for third and Hamilton looked under serious threat from Verstappen for second place but Hamilton was then able to increase his pace and then wasn't really under threat.

Leclerc had pitted much later than the other leaders and went on to the hard tyres but his pace hadn't been good in the first stint and he was a far way back in 5th place but such was the poor pace of Vettel on the mediums, lapping close to a second a lap slower on the same age tyres that Hamilton was on, that Leclerc was able to catch him but then an apaprent Ferrari team order was given for the cars to hold station, it would have been difficult for Leclerc to pass in any case.

The race saw mechanical retirements for both Sainz and Grosjean, Sainz with a MGU-K failure which saw the car set fire, he parked the cars in the pit lane entrance out of harms way, Grosjean had a left front wheel come loose after his pit stop, again he parked the car out of harms way down a service road so neither incident required a safety car.

With the order at the front now set the leaders set about gaining an extra point for the fastest lap, both Bottas and Verstappen exchanged fastest laps before it fell to Bottas, Hamilton also tried for fastest lap but his tyres were basically too old for him to be competitive.

So at the finish Bottas took the win from Hamilton, Verstappen, Vettel and Leclerc with Magnussen best of the rest in 6th place.

Average start for me, which given that a few big hitters went awry is fine by me.

I guess I kind of feel like Bottas, very happy to take the first win of the season. My first top step in Pick 10, now in my fourth year. I guess I owe some thanks to the rest of you guys, because I thought there was no way after seeing Vettel seven tenths back after qualy. In all my years of F1 I've never seen the pre-season hype so far off the mark.

Gasly let us all down, but hopefully he'll bounce back for Bahrain. The team was remiss in not having him ready for a last minute 2nd run in Q1. 18 drivers within a second? Pretty cool.

It's gonna be tough to make picks for the next race, for sure. Good luck to all, jzusy.

I've honestly always figured I'd Rosberg it once I finally win a championship... 8)

Yes I'm clearly going the Kimi/Jenson route.

These bonus points are getting out of hand, it's not enough that drivers get a bonus point for fastest lap. :-P

You've actually made 11 picks, using a numbering system is perhaps advisable? :)
