I was so tempted to go for a Leclerc victory on this one. But I just couldn't pull the trigger. I've gone for a safe Hamilton v Vettel ding dong instead

I had a similar thought process. I wanted Leclerc, but as the championship leader I just thought that if everyone else goes for Lewis and I don't, I stand to lose far too many points. At least this way the worst that can happen is I hold relatively stationary.

I have a feeling that Leclerc/Hamilton/Vettel would be a winning prediction by dint of scoring about 8 points, but we'll find out after the dust settles later today...

Guys been a nightmare this year

Just flicked through everyone's predictions after noticing both myself and Titanium failed to score. I think the best score was 4 points, with a few 3s and 1s. This really was an anomolous weekend.

AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX RESULTS

The first truly thrilling finish of the season may have had most of us on the edges of our seats to see who would come out on top between Max and Charles - but that wasn't because of the implications here. Consumed by conservatism, every single entrant had predicted a Mercedes to win, meaning that nobody stood to gain very much from the titanic battle between red and orange.

In the end, Max won out, and be relegating Charles to second place he also decided the winner here. Having put Leclerc in second and Bottas in third (behind Hamilton, of course), Mod Onyx scored an impressive four points and comes away as the sole winner of the Austrian Grand Prix!

Special mention to RustyRockets44 for being the only who didn't pick Hamilton to win (although he did pick Bottas), and Bentrovato for being the only one to put Verstappen anywhere on the podium (although not in the right place).

Individual Standings - Round Nine



Jezza13's DNS prevented him a chance to match Exediron's score this round, and as a result the points leader extends his advantage to seven points over his nearest rival - who is now Mox Onyx, having jumped all the way from seventh to second after winning this round. Mod Onyx holds a field-leading four wins, and has tiebreakers over anyone without a Perfect Podium.

A little further down, Lotus49 moves ahead of Icemanjee1 for fifth, and cm97 continues to get his title defense on track, entering the top ten in ninth position. He is followed by JN23, who passes CarlPotter on the ever-present tiebreakers.

Down the field, Espo re-passes P-F1 Mod for twelfth, and Charles LeBrad passes mcdo for fifteenth. The positions are stable from seventeenth on back.

Team Standings - Round Nine



It's still No Limit Excedrin Racing out at front; the two-time champions have increased their lead to ten points over the field.

Mission Copy James has taken second place from Management in Crisis, who endured a bit of a crisis this round by failing to put up a single point. Behind them, Lotus-CC Racing and Jalopy Racing have swapped fourth and fifth positions, separated on - you guessed it - tiebreakers!

For sixth, seventh and eighth, Crisis in Management gets past Sand Bag'n, as does Drive Sauber - who now possess the closest matched pairing, with Remmirath and Espo the only teammates separated by a single point.

In ninth, tenth and eleventh places, there are no changes, although Victorious Secret has moved a little closer to escaping ninth.

It's a little bit of a break, and then Great Britain. With Mercedes domination finally broken, will we see a few more non-silver picks for the top step?
