PF1 Pick 10 Competition 2018 Edition Brazil Updated
Ladies and gentlemen, it is back... the PF1 Pick 10 Competition! 2018 Edition
Rules are simple, pick 10 drivers you think will finish the race in the points and place them in the order of which you think they will finish. Points are awarded according to the difference your selection is from the race result, providing the selected drivers score points.
o Picking driver in correct place earns 25 points.
o One place out earns 18 points.
o Two places out earns 15 points.
o Three places out earns 12 points.
o Four places out earns 10 points.
o Five places out earns 8 points.
o Six places out earns 6 points.
o Seven places out earns 4 point.
o Eight places out earns 2 point.
o Nine places out earns 1 point.
Maximum points per race is 250.
Example for the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix:
Tip / Result: Points
1: Rosberg / 14th: 0 points
2: Hamilton / 1st: 18 points
3: Bottas / 3rd: 25 points
4: Ricciardo / 4th: 25 points
5: Massa / 2nd: 12 points
6: Vettel / 8th: 15 points
7: Alonso / 9th: 15 points
8: Button / 5th: 12 points
9: Raikkonen / 10th: 18 points
10: Magnussen / 11th: 0 points
Therefore my overall score for Abu Dhabi would be:
140 points
The person who has the most points by the end of the season wins the championship.
Your picks must be entered before Friday Practice 1 and can be changed any time before the session starts (just be sure to let me know). Any late picks will incur a penalty depending on how many sessions have passed, note that one second late is still late.
15 points for FP1
18 points for FP2
25 points for FP3
DSQ for Qual
In case the forum temporary closes during a race week and you are unable to submit your entry, your average score from past rounds will be used.
A further note concerns players that have a habit of forgetting their entries, for the most part because of work commitment it seems, I would advise such players to submit their entries soon after the last GP, these entries then can easily be edited nearer the race weekend if needs be.
What are you waiting for? You have 13 days, 4 hours and 16 minutes until Practice 1 of the Melbourne Grand Prix!
@Moderators: Can I kindly ask you to postpone moving this topic to the "Games" section as I would like to attract as many members as possible at least until Melbourne ?!

Will try my best to improve on my 22nd place in 2017!
This time I will try to be less sentimental and choose Williams drivers less often even though I (sadly) still and always will support that team

I actually did play it but it sort of fell apart last year with the results not being updated so I packed in about mid season, I noticed someone else had to finish off the season with the final results not being worked out until well into January, I'm not sure if it will be a runner for this season?
I guess this must be a common thing with people struggling to give their time to run competitions, I saw that happening with this competition as well so I came forward to run it.

All thanks to Poker for making this competition run in a smooth manner. Since 2013, I've nosedived in my score, hope this year will be better.

Re: PF1 Pick 10 Competition 2018 Edition
I'm in again, although it's tempting for me to leave to focus entirely on the Autosport GP Predictor, where I'm much more successful to date. But I still want that championship that eluded me in 2016, so I'll have to wait until then for my Nico Rosberg moment!
Preferring to forget that last year ever existed, my goal is to improve on my 2016 placing.

Well i know first hand the scoring wasn't an issue last yr as i did it weekly myself. (Missed 1 early on & excedrin stepped up ). So not sure which one your reffering to about january that wasnt the one im managing (2016 i had less time available) but the scores dont get put up on the site until tuesday on average. Would be nice to get some more people involved.
Check it out http://forum.planetf1.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14850worth a try. Similar to your pick 10 but different scoring and u get to see all practice sessions. Thanks in advance

I've just noticed you've advertised it on here so it's not the one that I mentioned, when you said Autosport I thought you meant one in their games section, I never realised it's one that you actually run yourself.

Nope, just means I'll shift this back to the ganmes forum on March 23rd. Will add a line to my sig about games though, see if that reminds people.

Re: PF1 Pick 10 Competition 2018 Edition
Here's to the start of my usual 'top ten but probably not challenging for the title because I've made such a bad start' season
1. Hamilton
2. Bottas
3. Verstappen
4. Ricciardo
5. Vettel
6. Raikkonen
7. Hulkenberg
8. Sainz
9. Grosjean
10. Alonso
Top eight are unlikely to finish twobytwobytwobytwo, but for the first race it seems safer to predict based on the order of the teams.

I almost missed this post as it is not on the Games forum. I was wondering if you'd forgotten or lost interest. How many other people will miss it too? Might be worth at least putting a pointer post on the Games forum 2017Pick10 thread as well?

I always put it on the main forum first to attract new players, I believe the competition has always been launched on the main forum first before I started running it myself?
I never considered that some players only ever visit the games section, I will do as you say.

Actually I do visit the main F1 section. I just havent done so recently. Being dum it didn't occur to me to look there for this comp until finally thinking that maybe you launched it there last year!
