Sorry for the delay. Spa results are below , and Monza's update will come tomorrow. Let's get down to the business

Belgian Grand Prix Update

Image

Lewis Hamilton fended off a late surge from Vettel to win the Belgian GP , with Danny Ric once again picking up a podium this year. The Finnish pair of Kimi and Bottas finished 4th and 5th respectively. Hulk and Romain took the flag with P6 and P7 , with Massa in P8. The inter-team bickering at FI cost them a double points finish , with Ocon only 9th , and Perez out of points. Sainz rounded off top 10.

Enough about these guys now. Let's see how we have done in the game.

Italian Grand Prix Update

Image

Mercedes Merciless at Monza. 8O

Lewis and Bottas dominated the Italian GP , and Ferrari had no answer to the scorching pace of the Mercs. Lewis became the 1st back-to-back race winner this year , with Valtteri making it a 1-2 for Mercs in the Ferrari land. Vettel was a distant 3rd , with that smiling Aussie Danny Ric once again having a storming drive from the back of the grid to finish P4.Kimi was 5th , while Ocon prevailed in the battle between FI and Williams. Special mention to the storming qualy performances of both Lance Stroll and Esteban Ocon , qualifying P4 and P5 , and starting P2 and P3 due to RBR penalties.Stroll finished ahead of Massa and Perez , while Max picked up a single point.

Enough about these guys now. Let's see how we have done in the game.

I'm feeling ready to take a desperate gamble for a win. I'll swap Haas for McLaren, and Hulk for Sainz. I think this is the winning combination for Singapore, even if it certainly won't get me as much as it costs!

McLaren for Haas, please.
It's a completely unnecessary (and potentially dangerous) transfer in my position, but hey.
And now I need to hope that Fernando doesn't just box the McHonda at the end of every race.

Singapore Grand Prix Update

Image

Ferrari scores a self goal in Singapore.

All the happiness the Ferrari fans had after the qualy at Singapore GP seeing Vettel on pole and Hamilton in P5 , evaporated within seconds of the race start. Kimi made a stunning start , but Max was sandwiched between the 2 Ferrari's as Sebastian veered to his left as much as possible to close off Max , unaware of Kimi's brilliant getaway. it all ended in tears for Ferrari , Max and Alonso , while Lewis couldn't believe what just happened , and gladly took the race victory , with Danny Ric coming in P2,and Bottas in P3. Sainz and Palmer produced their best results of the season. This race might turn out to be the GP which had a significant influence on this year's WDC.

Enough about these guys now. Let's see how we have done in the game.

Drumrolls for the 1st time winner of Group Pick'em this year , Icemanjee1 (humble brag :] ) , managing to score the joint highest score for a team this year , with 206 points. Narrowly missing out on the win , with 2 less points , is Jezza13's The Grid Fillers , with 204 points. Rounding off the podium , with 189 points , is TypingChicane's TypingChicane & the Inflatable Shark Fins and Mayhem

3rd: TypingChicane & the Inflatable Shark Fins and Mayhem - 189 points

Rest of the Field

As noted above , it was a disastrous round for those who chose Ferrari , and a double whammy for those who also had Seb as their Group 1 driver. It's also reflected in the scores below. Exediron escaped being the joint lowest scorer in this round by making a transfer before this round (Hope this encourages others also to make bold transfers) , and hence , Fountoukos13 was left to be the last in this round , with 97 points (1st sub-100 score this season for any team) :( .

4. The Champions - 184 points
5. WIN-MOOAR Racing - 179 points
6. White Visor - 176 points
7. Uncle Ron's Retirement Rodeo - 172 points
8. Bootleg Honda Racing - 135 points
9. Infiniti Infinity Ltd - 112 points
10.Phoenix Racing - 106 points
11.Fountoukos13 - 97 points

Singapore GP points breakdown:

2) TypingChicane & the Inflatable Shark also swapped out Haas for Mclaren. It cost them 8 transfer points.

10.Fountoukos13 - 2123 points(-2)
11.Infiniti Infinity Ltd - 2088 points(-)
12.Phoenix Racing - 2078 points(-)

Mayhem gained a place to go P2 in the standings , while Icemanjee1 , due to the win , jumps up 2 places to P5. The Champions moves 2 places up to P7 , while Bootleg Honda Racing and Fountoukos13 lose 2 places to go P8 and P10 respectively , due to their Ferrari picks.

Malaysian Grand Prix Update

Image

Another race weekend , another self goal from Ferrari. Seb had a problem in qualy which meant he started the race dead last , while Kimi didn't even start the race due to a similar problem. The Red Bulls were on pace , and Max took his 1st win of the season , with Lewis in P2 and Danny Ric in P3.

Enough about these guys now. Let's see how we have done in the game.

The swap to Mclaren from the previous round gets rewarded here , to TypingChicane & the Inflatable Shark Fins , who edge out Mayhem , scoring 172 and 163 points respectively. It's a 3 way tie to the 3rd place , with Icemanjee1 , The Grid Fillers , The Champions all scoring 160 points.

1st: TypingChicane & the Inflatable Shark Fins- 172 points

Remarkably , none of the teams moved up or down the standings after this race. TypingChicane & the Inflatable Shark Fins continues to extend their lead over Mayhem. While White Visor managed to tie on points with Bootleg Honda Racing , but they are still placed 9th due to the former having less transfer points than the latter.

Regarding the driver changes that has happened at Renault and Toro Rosso , the following has been decided.

1. Jolyon Palmer has been replaced by Carlos Sainz . If anyone had Palmer in their team , they would be receiving the points scored by Sainz from now on. Since no one had Palmer in their team , this is not a problem.

2. Pierre Gasly was brought in , from the Malaysian GP , as a permanent replacement for Kvyat in 2017. Again , if anyone had Kvyat in their team , they would have received points scored by Gasly . Since it was not the case , no changes here.

3. Austin GP will be a special case because Gasly won't be racing here , and Sainz has left the team. The replacement for Gasly is Brendon Hartley, while the replacement for Sainz is Kvyat(I know , its confusing 8O :uhoh: )

Basically , anyone who had Sainz in their team , will now get the points scored by Kvyat.

So , those who had Sainz in their team , if you again want to pick Sainz for your team , it will cost you 12 transfer points , or if you want Hulkenberg in your team, it will cost you 11 transfer points. Else you will get the points scored by Kvyat.

There are 5 teams who currently have Sainz in their team - The Grid Fillers , Infiniti Infinity Ltd , Phoenix Racing , Icemanjee1 and Uncle Ron's Retirement Rodeo. Please indicate below , whether you want to get Sainz into your team for 12 transfer points ,or Hulkenberg for 11 transfer points , or happy with getting points that will be scored by Kvyat.

PS: The deadline for making transfers is the start of FP1 tomorrow.

Further clarification regarding driver changes:

1. Pierre Gasly will return from the Mexico GP , so you can pick Gasly if you want , which will cost you 2 transfer points.

2. Brendon Hartley will replace Daniel Kvyat. So ,all those who had Kvyat (The Grid Fillers , Infiniti Infinity Ltd , Phoenix Racing and Uncle Ron's Retirement Rodeo) will now score points based on what Hartley scores.

If you want to change your drivers and/or teams , please indicate it below. As usual , the deadline for making the transfers is the start of FP1 on Friday.

I'm pretty sure I've always had Sainz in group three. Did that change because of the seat shuffle?

Yes. From the post I made before US GP:
Icemanjee1 wrote:Regarding the driver changes that has happened at Renault and Toro Rosso , the following has been decided.
