Round 15: Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia

The race saw front row starter Raikkonen retire before the race even started, whilst Vettel had to start at the back after an engine failure in qualifying.

At the start poleman Hamilton lead from Verstappen, Bottas and Ricciardo, but a derate problem on Hamilton's engine enabled Verstappen to close right behind him and under attack on the straight Hamilton took the decision not to defend the overtake because of what was at stake in the title battle.

Ricciardo managed to overtake Bottas a few laps later and this is how the podium places finished up, meanwhile Vettel managed to make his way through the field up to 4th and challenged Ricciardo for third, but after stern defence from Ricciardo, Vettel started to lose perfomance in his tyres and could challenge no longer.

A strange collision between Vettel and Stroll after the chequered flag totally destroyed the left hand rear of Vettel's car, the stewards took no action.

In third place with 131 points and receiving the "Reliable Ricciardo Trophy"

No unfortunately I tried to canvass for that rule change but it didn't get the support I needed.

I'm glad it's not put you off playing, I looked to bring this rule in for that very reason but people were not happy about a mid season change. I'll probably bring it up at seasons end to implement for next season if I can come to some kind of happy medium, however some still weren't happy and wanted draconian penalties.

It's to do with how the points are presented with trophies given out for each driver on the podium, It's a system that I inherited and I think it works alright.

Man, the 65 points I cost myself trying to be clever in Singapore are already starting to hurt me. Could've been back into 2nd and less than 50 points off mcdo; instead I'm over 100 behind and down in seventh.
