Between not really knowing the pecking order and the increased chance of DNFs, the first race of the year is always a bit of a shot in the dark. So I'm going to be quite conservative:

1. Hamilton
2. Vettel
3. Rosberg
4. Raikkonen
5. Bottas
6. Massa
7. Perez
8. Verstappen
9. Hulkenberg
10. Ricciardo
Pick 10 | 1st x3, 2nd x3, 3rd x8
2019: 11th | 2018: 5th | 2017: 6th | 2016: 8th | 2015: 2nd | 2014: 15th | 2013: 17th | 2012: 11th

First race of the season is almost upon us. And testing suggested good reliability, though there are still often a large number of retirements around Albert Park...a somewhat safe bet.

Australia 2016

1. Lewis Hamilton
2. Sebastian Vettel
3. Nico Rosberg
4. Kimi Raikkonen
5. Valtteri Bottas
6. Max Verstappen
7. Daniel Ricciardo
8. Nico Hulkenberg
9. Felipe Massa
10. Sergio Perez
NH#1: Quick Nick Heidfeld
NH#2: HULK SMASH

PF1 Pick 10 Podiums: 6 (2nd IND '11; 1st JPN '12; 1st MCO '13; 3rd DEU '16; 3rd USA '16, 3rd MEX '16)

My time for browsing F1 forums has significantly reduced - damned adulthood and responsibility! But I will do my best to keep going in this competition. Always close but no cigar!

I make a habit of not frequenting the games forum - to my knowledge there has never been a single game that got reported. Given that tradition, might I have permission to join as a player rather than a mod? I don't use my main account enough to remember to do things like this any more!

I always wondered if any of the mods played, being it in their personal user name.

So you are saying you want to play as P-F1 Mod?

I can't see why this should be a problem unless you have some kind of special powers, your signature suggest you might have though? 8O

Not sure if this is a good idea - having Mods involved!
but if PF1-Mod (Master Mod) is having a go, then I might as well.
(Of course, this means that there could be an internal sub-battle between Mods, which could be amusing  )
Think I'll be a little bit random for the first race, as I think reliability and tyre selection issues will play a part.

I'm sure anyone can see the general pecking order of the teams/drivers and make selections accordingly. After that, it's just the variables and vagaries of motor racing with some luck involved.
As I am a very unlucky person I fully expect to come last but I'll have fun trying to beat PF1-Mod anyway  8)

4. Raikkonen
5. Perez
6. Bottas
7. Hulkenberg

10. Sainz

Tempted to put Raikkonen ahead of Vettel, but I think Vettel will be a little too strong of him. Perez to win best pf the rest, and Sainz to finish ahead of Verstappen.

I love the smell off a new upcomming season at the evening. New season, new sound, new chance for win and hopefully a battle for victory from start to finish full action and overtakes....

I try to contact hulkstrong so he wont forget his chance on revenge for last season when he forgot his picks a few times.

Anyway here we go to Australia:

1. Vettel
2. Hamilton
3. Rosberg
4. Bottas
5. Raikonnen
