Lost a few points in the end going for a prediction I wanted over what I actually thought would happen.
Gutted, lost 2 places in the final standings lol.
Poker, can I be known as Laz_T800 next year?

I think that my turning point in the season was Hungary.

I was one position and 1 point behind Pokerman before Hungary and i ended up 36 positions and 393 points behind him... :-(( :-((

Edit: I should also update my signature at some point...

You know once I misspell something I keep on doing it, you could have let me know a bit sooner.

Well you did miss the Hungarian round which didn't help either.

Happy to have ended up in the top-10 again. Taken a bit of a step back this season, although I actually felt like I was more consistent across the year. I feel like next year's going to be all about who gets the best start while the order is still harder to predict. Looking forward to it all-the-same!

Cheers for running this for another year, Pokerman. From doing my own little game on here I've all the more appreciation for the time involved

I had a bet with myself on how long it would take you to notice and lost about 200 days ago.

Cheers I actually enjoy doing it, as Victor Kiam said he liked the company that much that he bought it. :)

On this subject, I only today noticed that Alienturnedhuman's username isn't 'alienatedhuman'. My mind had literally always read it like that; only because I had to type it out did I actually realise it wasn't what I thought it was

I think you did it on purpose to try and allay fears that you are this scary being that AlienTurnedHuman believes you to be? ;)

TypingChicane was third for a long while my feeling is that you was still out scoring him in the second half of the season, I will check.

Edit: Yes you was leading after round 8 with a 91 point lead over TypingChicane, then you had a couple of poor rounds which enabled Exediron to retake the lead and then extend his lead whilst TypingChicane closed the gap down to 45 points and at that point, round 10, he moved into third position. Exediron kept the lead for the next 3 rounds after that whilst TypingChicane chiselled the gap down to 23 points. Round 14 you scored 202 points retook the lead and opened the gap out to 39 points to TypingChicane, after that you kept the afterburner still on and just kept on pulling away with just one poor round at race 18.
Ok cheers, so it was more Exediron having a rough patch.

Been away a few days so a little late but massive thanks to pokerman for running this whole thing again this year, I had a great time thanks to all of your work.

I've really got to knuckle down and put my predictions in on time next year, penalties cost me two spots in the final ranking this year. Congrats to everyone who played this year, looking forward to next 👍

So I moved last weekend. That went poorly. Didn't have the chance to watch the race until today. Purposefully avoided any outlet that would tell me who won the WDC. Succeeded at that. Watch it, come online and find out Rosberg is calling it quits.

Mind blown

To cap it all off a terrible final round that scuppered any chance of making it into the top 10. Oh well.

A big thank you to pokerman. If you are ever in the Toronto(Hamilton), Canada area the drinks are on me. Congratulations to Covalent

I think 13th place may be my highest finish, even though I have competed in this competition every year. The lesson is not to lose hope, because I was 21st after Mexico.

As always, big thanks to pokerman and Fountoukos13 for all of their hard work to make this friendly competition happen. I know it is a labor of love, but it is also a lot of work over 21 weekends between March and November. Also remembering specdecible and HulkStrong before them and... crap am I forgetting someone else who ran the competition at some point?

Also, thank you to PF1 Mod and Mod_Turquoise for taking time off from their board duties to join us. I hope you had enough fun to want to do this again next year.

This is the best reason I've had to sulk all year ;) I'll try to get another mod or two involved for 2017.

It's also the only place where we can legitimately criticize and poke fun at the mods without getting banned. :D

Seriously, though, I am glad you enjoyed it. I find it really changes my experience watching the races because I am much more focused on the mid-field racing than I was in the past. That seems to be where the most hotly contested positions are these days, so I have really been enjoying F1 much more the past few years than if I wasn't in the Pick 10.

Can I just propose a rule change? It would be highly beneficial to cease the carryover of in-race points to the season championship--- instead, points could be awarded from 1st-20th on a 20-to-1 basis, with a bonus point for consecutive wins (1 bonus for one win, 2 for back-to-back, 3 for three in a row, and so on).

It won't happen. We've talked about alternative scoring systems off and on during my time in the competition - and probably before that, as well - and the majority either prefer the scoring the way it is or don't care enough to shake things up.

Indeed. The game works really, really well as it is; the simplicity is what makes it both challenging and rewarding.
