I feel your pain. So close to a good bounce back from a terrible Monaco pick.

Had to go to A&E (I’m still in one piece) at the red flag so hoping to do results tomorrow but I’m guessing there will be very few, if any points to be given.

Hopefully not a heart attack from the shock? :P Seriously, I hope you're OK.

I've taken a quick skim through the results, and from what I can see there's absolutely no points scored today.

Another shared win for No Limit Excedrin Racing. Ignore the fact that we didn't score any points, and glory in the fact that no one else did either! :D

Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Sergio Perez won a chaotic Azerbaijan Grand Prix ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Pierre Gasly as title contenders Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen both failed to score.

Hamilton took the lead from pole sitter Charles Leclerc in the opening laps and Red Bull duo Verstappen and Perez followed the Mercedes driver through shortly after. The top three were close together on track when the pit stop phase took place. A slight delay for Hamilton and some excellent pace from Verstappen and Perez saw both of them jump ahead of Hamilton.

From then on it looked like the top three was set, but the race was reignited when Verstappen suffered a tyre failure in the closing stages. This resulted in a red flag and a standing restart.

Hamilton got a better start than Perez and looked like he would take the lead into turn one, but he went straight on due to accidentally hitting the ‘magic’ button on his steering wheel. This allowed Vettel, who had benefitted from running a long first stint, and Gasly into the podium positions where they both finished behind Perez who took his first win for Red Bull.

Points & Championship Standings
No one predicted a Perez win and unsurprisingly no one predicted Vettel/Gasly to make the podium so it is 0 all round, meaning no changes to the championship standings this week.

Shout out to Espo, Jenson’s Understeer, F1 Tyrant and Mayhem who were all just a few laps away from perfect podiums.

Next time
We go to a historically (modern day at least) boring track: Paul Ricard. Will the return to a more conventional race track see a return to form for Mercedes?

Right... I think that's enough of a head start for you lot. Time to get serious

2 Hamilton
3 Perez.

French Grand Prix

Max Verstappen won the French Grand Prix with a late overtake of title rival Lewis Hamilton. Sergio Perez came home in third position.

Points
14 points - RustyRockets44, Jezza13
1 point - Tufty, Jenson’s Understeer, Remmirath

The late overtakes cost people a lot of points.

Individual Championship
RustyRockets44 jumps from seventh to second thanks to their perfect podium and is only four points behind leader Icemanjee1.

Jezza13 said he’d given us enough of a head start and backed up the talk with a perfect podium that lifted them off the bottom of the championship and into tenth position.

Team Championship
In the Teams Championship THE - The Turbo Hybrid Era have closed the gap at the top to four points. Meanwhile Jalopy Racing have moved into joint fourth, level with Drive Sauber and No Likit Excedrin Racing. The battle from fourth to eighth has just two points in it.

Next time
We now head to Austria for a double header in the Styrian Hills. Will Red Bull keep their good form up?

Editing to add... apologies for the messed up numbers on the teams championship. I’ve done this on my iPad today and it’s hard work and I can’t be bothered changing it. I’ll have a laptop back next week
