Nice to win a round, it's been a while! :D
And in to the top3 too 8O
Joint win, my good sir (or madam). :D

Although I am a bit miffed that I'm listed second in the list even though I made my prediction before yours (and as per standard F1 rules the one to set the time earlier is listed as the winner) :evil:
Indeed, must have missed that! Congrats to us I guess :lol:

If this doesn't work I'm going to try calling the lowest possible score every race from now on. So if I jinx Mazepin into a win, I can only apologise!

I'll absolutely regret doing this when Mercedes find a second overnight, but I'm going to take the 18 point penalty and go with this instead:

1. Verstappen
2. Perez
3. Hamilton
4. Leclerc
5. Bottas
6. Sainz
7. Norris
8. Ocon
9. Ricciardo
10. Gasly

Pirelli have let everyone down again, it seems. Checo might be happy but I doubt Red Bull, Aston Martin or the FIA are. Still, it made for an unexpected result and that meant anyone who had banked on Lewis beating Max lost less than they otherwise would have to the competition.

Baku results:

1 - ICEMANJEE1 - 111
2 - DONR - 107
3 = EXEDIRON - 105
3 = HERB - 105
5 - STEVEW - 97
6 - COVALENT - 96
7 = PISCO SOUR - 94
7 = UNLIKEUDAY - 94
7 = POKERMAN - 94
7 = MAYHEM - 94
11 - MOD TITANIUM - 92
12 - A.J. - 88
13 - RUSTYROCKETS44 - 87
14 - K.F. - 86
15 - PURCHVILLE - 85
16 - JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 84 [FP2 penalty]
17 - REMMIRATH - 83
18 - JN23 - 81
19 = F1TYRANT - 78
19 = TUFTY - 78
21 - BENTROVATO - 74
22 - P-F1 GAMES MASTER - 73
23 - JZUSY - 72
24 - SCHUMACHER FOREVER #1 - 58 [FP3 penalty]

[Jenson's Understeer would have scored 99 without the change. Worse predictions but no penalty would have put him 5th today].

Championship standings:

1 - PISCO SOUR - 848 [1 win, 1 2nd, season high score 199 in Bahrain]
2 - ICEMANJEE1 - 836 [2 wins]
3 - COVALENT - 814 [1 win, 1 2nd]

I'm not sure where you're getting 96 from, I've checked the numbers and I agree with the spreadsheet that it should be 94.

Another disaster!

I know it's basically irrelevant because it isn't how the race ended but... I was curious how I would've scored had the race finished in the order it was running at the point of Max's tyre explosion. I make it 126 points with my original prediction and 128 (146 minus the FP2 penalty) with my amended predictions. So in that scenario I would've at least benefitted from the change. Not as bad as the damage that moment did in some of the other games (goodbye, perfect podium...) but a little extra salt in the wound all the same!

I find it hilarious that my first podium of the season came off a slate of predictions that started with this absolute stinkbomb of a hot take... :-P

Oh well, take the wins where you can. I haven't had much else to celebrate so far!

I too had Bottas at #1 so it was good damage limitation that I finished in 6th after all. You did one better still.

I couldn't find the order at the red flag, so I've just put Max in as winner and Lewis behind Checo.

Your first predictions:

HAM - 15
VER - 18
BOT - 0
PER - 15
NOR - 15
LEC - 25
SAI - 12
OCO - 0
RIC - 0
GAS - 8

I make that 108

Your second predictions:

VER - 25
PER - 25
HAM - 25
LEC - 15
BOT - 0
SAI - 10
NOR - 25
OCO - 0
RIC - 0
GAS - 8

Which I think comes to 133, or 115 post-penalty.

Obviously the order did change a bit so this isn't entirely accurate to your question.

I couldn't find the order at the red flag, so I've just put Max in as winner and Lewis behind Checo.

Your first predictions:

HAM - 15
VER - 18
BOT - 0
PER - 15
NOR - 15 (12)
LEC - 25
SAI - 12 (15)
OCO - 0
RIC - 0 (18)
GAS - 8

I make that 108 (126)

Your second predictions:

VER - 25
PER - 25
HAM - 25
LEC - 15
BOT - 0
SAI - 10 (12)
NOR - 25 (18)
OCO - 0
RIC - 0 (18)
GAS - 8

Which I think comes to 133 (146), or 115 (128) post-penalty.

Obviously the order did change a bit so this isn't entirely accurate to your question.
I went off the order at the end of the previous lap which was MV, SP, LH, SV, PG, CL, YS, LN, CS, DR. I've added the correct scores above in brackets. So a marginally better score, but the bigger unknown is how everyone else's scores would've changed and whether I would've finished any higher than I did in reality.

Either way, I think it's a reminder that the risk vs reward of an intentional penalty is very marginal, and even having a little more time to try and understand the pecking order doesn't really help if that order is heavily affected by DNFs!

Thanks! Yes, I agree with your counts. Interesting to see the two side by side for sure
