The win this week over the Redskins was really big. Score 15 unanswered at the end of the game to force OT then pull out the victory there. Brees effectively played the 2 minute(ish) drill twice at the end and looked pretty spectacular doing so. He seemed like he hit everyone bang on, easily. Great QB/Coach both with playoff experience, strong run game, D still looks good on the whole. This was a great game to watch too, I thought.

THANKSGIVING DAY. While much less of a deal for me than our American friends (best wishes to anyone celebrating it), I'm excited to see 2 games this week before bed time. And one is the Vikes game which looks like it could well be the game that decides the division. I just hope like hell that it's on gamepass rather than Sky blackout, though I think that's only for Sunday 6pm and 9/9.30pm games. Chargers @ Cowboys slightly less exciting of an affair. Giants @ Redskins as the late game is much less enticing this season than most. I do think the NFC East divisonal matchups tend to be the best divisional matches in recent years, not sure if that's a common thought or not.

It'll be Patriots I have to think but Saints, Eagles, Seahawks (not even leading their division, lost on MNF and have lost stars in their secondary but I can't write them off) would be my guess now, with Rams and Vikes looking playoff bound but I don't think they can pull it off.

NFC playoffs look fun, I was way off about the Seahawks. Feels like the Pats are being a little overrated in betting markets but thats maybe because the AFC looks a lot weaker, Steelers aside. Have a sneaky bet on the Rams as an outsider.

Dipped in and out of watching NFL for years, usually around the playoffs but sometimes only the Superbowl. Got a Raiders top #18 with Randy Moss's name on it for a gift years ago so they're the team I looked out for but never a serious fan.

However out of boredom I watched A Football Life with Tom Coughlin and it properly hooked me in and I've watched about 20 others from that series over the past couple of weeks, most of the ones on the catch up service on Sky Sports except a couple of head coach ones with names I can't spell that I'll get around too but anyway the player ones were great and so I watched both championship games and it wasn't like it usually was for me, I think I've been hooked in properly now but hopefully my interest holds longer than just the Superbowl and carries through to the next season.

I'd recommend all the players A Football Life documentaries to anyone with even just a fleeting interest, they were really good. Some of my favourites were Terrell Owens,Jerome Bettis,LaDainian Tomlinson,White&Brown(Really Good),Barry Sanders,Walter Peyton,Christian Okoye,Immaculate Reception, Doug Flutie and Sean Taylor.

There are no bad ones though. Anyway looking forward to the Superbowl and I'm hoping the Eagles can do it. (Sorry Herb!)

Indeed many great football life documentaries too many to list them all but some of my favs are kurt warner, marshall faulk , ray lewis, payton manning, steve young & jerry rice. But like you said lotus they are all very well done and get you fired up to watch some football. Seeing the players themselves describe specific moments and how they analyzed it is really something special to watch.

It really is yeah. Loved the Kurt Warner one, a great underdog story. Watched the Rice one yesterday and he still looks like he could play,lol. Today I saw the Alzado and (Jerry)Smith ones and both are quite sad for very different reasons but good nonetheless. They don't have the Manning one on Sky so I'll have to find that one.

They definitely made me see NFL in a whole new light and my appreciation for the all sides of the game has gone through the roof. The whole college/university system and the importance of it is something as a Brit I wished we had not just in terms of NFL but in general sporting wise, the competitiveness of it all at such an age is so impressive and must stand those athletes in great stead. (Loved the 2006 Rose Bowl AFL documentary as well)

Football Life is great, though I do find some that I just don't end up caring about at all.

As a guy who only started following NFL in about 08/09 and has only really be a fan since '12, I like America's Game too. Sum up the Superbowl story in an hour.

Missing Rings was also fantastic. Bit gutted that they made 5 and 2 of them were my team though!

They had a great doc a couple of years ago about Peyton and Eli Manning doing some off-season work with their old college coach. I found it interesting, but I also found it quite heart warming the bits when they just became 2 brothers goofing around again.




Well, I'm in a bit of a funk with NFL since the absolute sh*tshow that the people who were wearing white put up against the Eagles. It's not the loss, it was the manner of the loss. Plus, the bookies, the pundits and myself pretty much all wrote off Philly. I'll get over it, but I haven't worn any Vikes gear since it happened, which is unusual for me.


Quite looking forward to Sunday night though. 6 of us will be getting together to watch (7, if the host's wife stays up). Can't imagine it topping last years (where the party had a huge lull when it was clear the Falcons would win, and obviously picked up when Tom Brady disagreed that the Falcons would win). I'm split on it. If Carson Wentz was still active, I'd probably root for him. He was great fun to watch and seems like a good guy. I have no ill will to the Eagles just because they pumped the Vikes. I'm a firm believer in "loser needs to do better" rather than hating a team because they do a better job. Which also means, I don't dislike the Patriots. I don't mind Brady/Belichick getting 6th rings at QB and HC because they really are something else. Really don't have a dog in this fight so I just want an entertaining game.

Not at all enthused by the Pepsi Superbowl 52 Half Time Show (so sick of the fact it gets full named every time it's discussed). Obviously mileage on music varies greatly. There was a great run from 2005 for about 5 years where we had: Rolling Stones, The Who, Prince, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Paul McCartney. I feel like the move to more pop-ish music is simply because somehow people tweeting about the half time makes it a bigger deal. Or maybe I'm just a cranky old man who is already telling people how it was better back in my day and what these kids listen to isn't music.



Oh, went to an NFL thing run by Sky Sports with proceeds going to Sport Relief charity. So it was 2 of the Sky Sports UK coverage team, Scott Hanson from NFL redzone, Josh Norman and Emmanuel Sanders. £7 to get in so went with 3 buddies. Surprisingly good fun. Nice atmosphere - NFL and F1 are close for how nice the atmosphere seems to be. Big Redzone fan and Scott Hanson seemed like a really cool guy. Engaged the crowd, was funny, was interesting and waited about quite a while at the end for those wanting a wee photo with him. Josh Norman is a very, very charismatic guy. Very interesting. Came out in a full kilt for us to a huge ovation. Must say, didn't like him too much before but like him a lot more now. Sanders was quieter but also clearly has a sharp wit. Felt he made a bit less effort to engage though. Night consisted of some prearranged discussion topics, some audience Q&A, some audience participation games. Best bit was when someone asked what Norman and Sanders would do if they were lined up against each other on a play. They got up and explained/demonstrated a lot of the subtleties that I was unaware of. For any of the other UK fans, if it's near you next year I'd recommend it. Especially for £7 going to charity.

Horrendous Half Time Show. One of the worst that I can remember.

Loved it, best game I've seen and happy for the Eagles. Missed the half time show though but that sounds like a bonus right now

The city (or Twin Cities? I'm not sure what the phrasing should be) turning purple then having the prince symbol appear was really cool. The rest sucked. Seems like it's pretty common an opinion. Lackluster would be about the most positive.

Good hard fought game until the end. Could have gone either way. Some terrible commercials tho.

I just have to say "thank you!" to the Eagles. With Broncos not making the playoffs this year, I had several teams to cheer for in the playoffs... WHOEVER was playing against New England. Another off-season of reading ESPN telling us about the G.O.A.T Brady and the Patriots was more than I think I could have handled. I find it amazing that the Eagles won it all given the loss of their starting quarterback during the season, but congrats EAGLES!

My interest in NFL is staying strong. I've now watched all the America's Game documentaries and most of the A Football Life ones. Chad Johnson's was hilarious. Charles Woodson was the boss, unbelievable what he achieved.

Watched the Draft for the first time too. Looking forward to seeing Barkley,B.Chubb and Vita Vea the most I think. QB situation is interesting with Mayfield going No.1 instead of Darnold, I'd have gone for Rosen myself based on what they were saying about him, I'm not sure how being too intelligent is supposed to be an issue but whatever. Josh Allen being the most likely to start week 1 you would think based on competition. I like Tyrod Taylor so I think Baker will have to wait a bit.

I liked what Cleveland did in the draft addressing their weaknesses over just picking the best available. I like Bradley Chubb but they needed a corner.Also like Nick Chubb there to share the burden with either Baker or TT. Also like what the Giants and the Patriots did overall.

Free agency the Rams wen't mad, if they can control that dressing room you've got to think they are in with a shout, that defensive unit is insane now they've added Suh,Peters and Talib.

But anyway my interest has gone a bit nuclear, I watch a lot of the shows on youtube every day like GMF,The Herd when it's about Football, Undisputed but it annoys me a little tbf and some others I forget. Can't wait until the season starts.

Oh and the Hard Knocks show is great, only watched the ones on Sky so last 4 or 5 but they are an amazing insight. Loved the Tampa one, Gerald McCoy is hilarious and a helluva player. Think they did well in the off season too and him and Vea are going to have a blast I think.

Yea the hard knocks series are all good same with football life all very well done. That chad Johnson one is comedy. I liked his show with Terrell Owens the short time it was on. Those guys together was some funny tv

Just got in from first Redzone of the year.


Ryan Fitzmagic. I'm a bit of a fan, mostly because the dude doesn't slide but goes head first. He played amazingly tonight. I doubt he can hold it up but I'd love to be wrong. A few more games like that and he'll keep the starter job. Also Kamara was my first round pick in fantasy, #5 overall, and scored nicely for me.

Vikes hand Jimmy G his first defeat as a starter.

Ecstatic for Adrian Peterson who had a big game and got his 100th Rushing TD. He may not be a viking anymore but he's one of the reasons I got into the Vikes and the NFL and one of his rushing tds at Wembley in 2013 is amongst the purest moments of joy I've experienced. Here's to a few more for him, if not many more.
