One of my favourite tennis players is back to playing well! Means I don't look crazy when people ask me where he's ranked! Now I can at least say inside the top 100!

Ernests Gulbis! He's on a 11 match winning streak atm. Think it's more than he won last season haha.

Havent watched him too much... He played pretty well from what little I watched Against Berdych in Wimbeldon.

He's an amazingly naturally talented guy just a bit lazy/party boy. From what I've heard he's actually pushing hard for it now and it's really paying off. He's won Delray Beach already this year and I have no doubt that he can continue playing well.
That was also one of my favourite ever matches because of my Gulbis love and my Berdych hatred so I'm really glad you've mentioned that.

Well that was interesting, I just came home in a blizzard, navigating from power pole to power pole. When I look out the window now there are ravens PLAYING! They like the updrafts from hills and buildings so they can almost hover in place - truly awesome creatures.

The name of this owl deserves to be shared in an awesomeness thread.

Foxes!

Just seen one on a grass verge just down the road from my house. Stood perfectly still a couple of meters away with it's nose pointed at the ground (guessing it waiting by a mouse hole or the like). They're gorgeous animals and we protect them, not hunt them or cull them in urban areas.

About time for this thread to move up the board again so: Jarno Trulli's Grappa Don't know if it's available in UK (why would it not be?) but found some in the SAQ in Montreal and it's pretty damned good stuff. Also some of his wine is none too shabby either.

I stuck £1 each way on Cappa Bleu on 12/1 and am expecting only a couple of quid back - how much did you get back?

How did you manage to get that much back, or am I missing something?

each-way betting confuses me.

I think £1 each-way means a £2 total stake. £1 goes on the 80-1 for the outright win and the other £1 goes on a placing 1-4. So I got £80 for the win + £20 for top 4 finish and then my £2 stake back = £102.

Today I worked out that my student loan will be fully paid off in March 2184 at the current rate I'm paying it back. At which point the SLC will probably have ceased to exist.
