I did once propose the non-stick, no skidmark Teflon thong. sadly it never got beyond the design stage. I am sure it would have been awesome though.

A design feature! If your waist is narrower than your hips they will stay in place. Those of us with a more Rubenesque build would find they slide off a bit too easily thus restricting the use only to those whose figures are thong-friendly. (Told you they would be awesome)

Just a very small market (unless you can also invent 'thong-braces')

Being on a fixed term contract, I've been cautious in using up my annual leave, but now they have told me I'm getting at least another year I have 14 days of Annual Leave to get rid of before April 1st 8)

To add to this, I received a nice little cheque from the tax man, reimbursing me with a considerable amount of money!

I am very very happy today: my B2 license came through! Now [at last] I can work on becoming type-rated. It's taken 4 years and a lot of money, but it's definitely worth it! I am now a licensed aircraft technician which means a) payrise and b) better job opportunities if I decide to go abroad to work once I can gain some aircraft type ratings [which won't take too long]. So spent today with massive grin on my face.

And also finally got round to buying new My Dying Bride album and it's ace!

I'm putting my manuscript together for my first novel, and will be sending to editors this week :D
I find this awesome as it excites me and I can stop trying to edit it all myself, else I'll be doing it for eternity.

Theoretically got my 5000 word essay out of the way. Only got a few short pieces to do tonight and tomorrow, then I'm done [apart from an exam, but shush!].

Tennis on the laptop, snooker on the TV. The only thing that would make today better would be somebody bringing me food.

Meshuggah, Devin Townsend and Periphery at Brixton Academy in May.

Nice! Gonna have to get me a ticket for that! Meshuggah are just awesome

Not a fan of Periphery though. Saw them open for Dream Theater last year and thought they were poor.

Saw Meshuggah with Animals As Leaders last year, and Devin Townsend doing the Retinal Circus. That was awesome.

I've not seen Periphery live, but I've heard that their live show was lacking a bit. Love the new album though; their cover of Slipknot's "The Heretic Anthem" is awesome. So hopefully they can put on a decent support.

But to be honest, just the thought of seeing Meshuggah and Devin has me very very excited, just about anyone could be the support and I'd still sit thought it.

I was at the Meshuggah/Animals as Leaders gig last year too, they were just fantastic. Meshuggah are one of my favourite bands anyway but this was the first time I'd seen them live.

If you like Periphery's albums then you'll probably appreciate them live; I personally don't like their albums that much. They're clearly very talented but I find it all a bit messy and over the top. I'd put them in the same boat as Protest the Hero if you're familiar with them.

I haven't actually listened to much of Devin Townsend's stuff. I listened to the Terria album and thought it was decent but didn't really blow me away so I've never bothered to check out anything else he's done. I get impression he'd be good live though.

You are all so close to gastronomic Nirvana it's not true!!!
Chips - good
Chips with gravy - very good
Chips with cheese - also very good

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you that great Canadian classic Chips, cheese and Gravy otherwise known as POUTINE (It probably fueled a few Villeneuves so it can't be all bad) My wife forbids me to eat it because it's also known as "heart attack on a plate"

My friends pulled out of going to Silverstone this year, but my brother's wife now wants to get him a ticket for his 30th birthday on June 24th, so trip is back on with my brother, maybe my other brother and my dad. Should be fun!

Just booked for me, my brother and my dad. I'm a grand lighter until I get money back from them but glad to be going back. Need to look out my McLaren tops. Might buy a new McLaren baseball cap actually. Or last season's if that is on sale.

edit: Free Jenson/Lewis/Team cap with last years t-shirt (caps are last years also) so got the 2012 McLaren shirt and a JB cap. Expensive night.

Got me Fred cap. Just got to get the shirt. Lets hope weather is better than last year. Can't wait.
Edit - on side note I was surprised by how many sold out already.

Mouse finally breathed its last today. I got bored of not having a working wheel to scroll with. In Morrisons earlier I decided it was time to replace it, so I picked up a simple, tiny one for a fiver. It's amazing. not only does it work, but it CHANGES COLOUR.
