I'm doing my Masters just now (so my 5th year of uni, seeing as I'm Scottish so my undergrad course was 4 years!) I don't know what subject you're doing, but what I can say about the experience is that it is a lot of hard work but very rewarding; you get a lot of satisfaction from the progress you make. :) My Masters is half-coursework and half-research based, and I'm only a few weeks away from handing in my dissertation, and it's been quite an experience!

Enjoy it! It's a fun day. I was worried about falling over too, even more so because I wanted to wear heels with my dress! But luckily I managed it :D

I've gone against heels as I never normally wear them anyway. If I stick with flats and crawl across the stage then I can't fall! :D

Made cookies for the first time with little girl today. I never normally get the time so it was good fun to finally do something fun like that with her.

My stereo system is getting a bit old, and it doesn't like some CDs. It doesn't like any tapes and the only radio station it can pick up is Radio 3, but i rarely use them so it doesn't bother me. When we had a small gathering yesterday, it was chosen to be used because it's a 3 disc autochanger, so we didn't have to change CDs too often, and it's still reasonably loud. My little brothers NOW collections and JLS albums were not liked by my little old stereo, and gave out nothing but static or "no disc" messages. but Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, Queen's Greatest Hits II, and Thin Lizzy's Black Rose came through crystal clear :D

Heard a tawny owl outside the past couple of nights. Combined with the sparrowhawks I saw a couple of weeks ago and the buzzards I saw circling the Co-op the other day I'd say my town's doing well for wildlife atm!

Nah, the birds are too lazy to hunt. See what people drop when they come out of the shop, much easier

Sometimes the Mirror has it's upsides....

The 28-year-old spent a week in the studio laying down an R&B single in Los Angeles.

And then he jetted back to the Mediterranean to share time on a luxury yacht off Ibiza with Mercedes overlord Niki Lauda

This years festeval has the show with the best neme I've ever heard - "Brendon Burns and Colt Cabana Sit in a Fifty-Seater Around Midnight and Provide the Commentary to Bad Wrestling Matches". I haven't watched wrestling in a long time, but that sounds amazing. It's been a long standing goal of mine to go to the festeval and see how little i can spend :D

Yeah! Either it's the last snow of the previous winter or the first snow of the upcoming winter. Either way we had snow this morning and I can start counting the days until the snowmobile comes out of the garage. Awesome!

Went to Snetterton race track to watch some truck racing for the first time. It was a great day out, had a blast. Got to go on a grid walk, meet the racers and they even signed the programs for us. And there were some legends cars and some pick-up trucks as well. And £22 for the whole day. Was good day out, recommened

You can't go wrong with most days racing at British circuits when it isn't F1! I had a VIP day at Croft BTCC last year, with a grid walk, paddock pass, meeting the drivers and teams and a BBQ lunch and beer (none of this poncey F1 gourmet buffet and champagne nonsense) all for just £65. I dread to think how much it would have been for the same at an F1 event.

Had a lovely weekend at Leeds, although I've learned that going out hiking the day before a festival is not the way to do things.

since July, that little stereo packed up completely, I'm afraid :( I was going to try and rebuild it, or replace the internals completely, but I haven't got round to it... I haven't the heart to throw it away though.

doing it the other way round is even worse. About 15 years ago I went to the Leeds festival (think it V98) and after 2 days and no sleep I took a 6 hour train ride from Leeds to Manchester, Bangor, Llandudno, Porthmadog and Criccieth (couldn't sleep on the train incase I missed my connection) then a 3 miles walk to the campsite I used to stay at every year for 2 weeks mountain walking and rock climbing. I didn't get that much done for the first week that year!

But I did get to see Green Day live for the first time, so it was all worth it :D

I've been really struggling with my business since the second dip in the recession. I've been claiming tax credits, council tax benefit and even getting food vouchers I've been so skint for the past couple of years! And my dad randomly popped into work today with a cheque for a s**t load of money! (and I do mean a s**t load)

When I asked him what it was and why he'd given it to me, he said it was about a fifth of what he gave my brother a few years back 8O

Maybe I should talk to him more than 5 mins once a year at Christmas!

Congrats, that is excellent.

I started the day with one nephew, now I have two. Get to see the creepy little bat eared midget tomorrow.

Just been told I'm being given 200 shares in my company (worth around £2700) for simply having a great attitude at work and boosting morale (when I'm not on here that is!).

Here's to the weekend!

After being just under 1:55 in my first half marathon back in May I signed up for another one set for October 6 and set a goal of breaking 1:50.

After a setback to my training due to a foot issue and the government shutdown forcing the race to be moved to November 10 making it 2 weeks after a full marathon instead of 3 weeks before I didn't think I'd be able to make my goal and was willing to settle for a personal best.

But the weather was perfect and I was feeling good which resulted in a time of 1:48:45. Goal achieved! (Even if I did fade a little bit in the last mile and a half.)
