Went out last night, queued to get into the pub, didn't go to the bar because it would've taken about an hour to get a drink, came home early. Not the best night out you say? Perhaps not, but when I was opening my door I heard something rustling about on the front garden. I turned round expecting a bird only to find A HEDGEHOG! I love hedgehogs and never see them. So yes, I'm calling that awesomeness!

Ran my first half-marathon today!

At 1:54:22 I was at the slow end of the time range I was shooting for, but still within the target zone so it was a successful day.

By placing 107th out of 462 in group, and 1092nd out of 7654 overall. I just missed my secondary goals of placing in the top 100 of my age group, and top 1000 overall.

English teacher says my spelling is terrible at the start of class today. Do the spelling test and get highest grade. Not bad for someone who's spelling is apparently "below average"

Well done sir. I'm so unfit these days I doubt I could walk a half marathon let alone do it at over 6mph average.

Good for you. I've been going around and around in a similar situation for a couple of years.
I hope your relationship resolves into something good in a more timely manner than mine has.

Just had about a dozen members of wife's family over to the new house for dinner/bbq. All francophones, all enjoyed evening, house got family seal of approval. Off to montreal next week for gp. Life is good (apart from thumb injury where red snapper got me!!)

Organising for Festival of Speed next month and having an old mate offer me his second ticket to spend a day at Silverstone at a Top Gear track day event... He gets to drive a Toyota GT89 and I get to sit in the passenger seat...

The Vulcan Howl 8O

I remember seeing it at an airshow, Barton Aerodrome. The noise isn't only loud but quite spooky. Awesome.

Not only awesome but totally inspiring. I hope that I would have that attitude if something similar happened to me :D

One of my oldest friends and beat man at my wedding has just had his first baby. That's not not awesome bit, they've named him:

Xander Jenson Burn

I love that name!

I wish we had! Spent a lot of time queueing these past couple of days but it has been pretty awesome :D Now to watch the highlight on all the matches I've missed.

Edited to make it more awesome: Also saw about a million Red Kites on the Monday morning which were lovely. First time I've seen them (that I've actually cared about) and they truly are gorgeous creatures.

I know exactly what you mean, as I always loved it when I saw a hedgehog in my back garden.

Having moved to Thailand, I find the odd Cobra I see to be incredibly awesome - although I'd prefer it if they stayed away from my house and dogs 8O ! Interestingly though, the cobras (especially babies) only get REALLY upset when I approach the scene having been alerted by my dogs :? .

(although it's a little scary I bought their first album 20 years ago)
