The fairy cakes they give you for being sick at my office I go in to work and do whatever I can unless I'm practically ill enough to be hospitalised. If all 400 people in the office go down with the same cold or whatever then tough luck. Even doctors notes don't seem to prevent disciplinary hearings for absence.

A friend of mine thought she'd broken her neck when she passed out at work in January - she was taken by ambulance to hospital directly from the site, her boss even dialled the ambulance on her behalf, and then when she was still in hospital, still completely immobilised in one of those braces because it turned out she HAD broken it, she got a letter through the post saying she had been fired for lack of attendance without reason. Her mum had been calling her employer daily to keep tabs on her health. Go figure the logic in that!

I remember a Fella I worked with getting a bollocking for not phoning in.

He had been that bad he wasn't able to get out bed, they didn't have a phone so his Mrs phoned in on his behalf from the payphone in the town. Previously that would have been grand as the office gremlin told his manager and that was chusty. But they had recently merged companies and the guy they brought across and made our manager decided that all communication should be done direct with him regardless. A letter went out saying that notification from a 3rd party or to any other member of staff wouldn't be accepted.

Kinda bolloxed if you are lying comatosed in a hospital bed and he doesn't accept the notification from your better half. Or considering the odd day he would have decided to jump in and go a run with a van driver. So how do you phone a guy who is not in the premises and doesn't give his mobile out?

Then my last place in the interview made a big deal about sick pay, which they kinda went on about to me as a major plus because I was moving jobs for medical reasons saying if I needed an op after being there a year or something I would get full pay. What they didn't say was as it was new and because they had been bought by a big multi-national and it was the parent companies policy not theirs they kept the right to keep it at their discretion. One guy whilst I was there got into a major car wreck (Not his fault) whilst working and because he had been off previously for something they were talking about not paying him. After I left I heard that basically the sick pay policy was a load of rubbish because they never paid out.

It was a fairy cakes hole though I good go on for pages about that dump.

And that idiot taxi driver who tried to kill me this morning. But on a more positive note; clean underwear twice in one day!

'Single minded' Religious people, or single minded people in general - Those people who believe their way is right no matter what, and no matter what is shown to them, they can not accept that other people have different views, and respect those different views!

Cyclist - Been mentioned before, but they are not ALL bad, just those few that do not obey the rules of the road, and then complain when they get hit by cars, its always hard to judge what a cyclist is going to do next, as they do not follow the rules, so it is usually a huge surprise when they do!

TV reality competition type shows - Xfactor, BGT, BB you know all of them, why are they still around, I use to love Saturday night TV with a bit of comedy or a nice game show such as Generation game, now it seems its some sing, dance, factor on ice or something else equally rediculous, and do not get my started on the that jungle programe

Wrestling haters - ok might not be many agree with me, but those that have to keep telling you that it is fake, so therefore it is rubbish, and yet they watch many Soaps! Yes wrestling is fake, but tell me is it easier to hit a person for real, or to make it look like you did some what and the other person making it look like they got hit... Its entertainment, don't take it so damn seriously.

Bad Drivers - Now I will not pretend to be an angel of a driver, because I am not, but people who seem to not be able to read basic signage, such as NO RIGHT TURN, or ONE WAY, and fail to follow those oh so simple rules, I work in CCTV, and on a quiet shift I decided to count those making a right turn at a no right turn in a small town... in 3 hours I must of caught almost 30 doing so!
Also another section of this, I like to drive at speed limits, when someone is going slower I sometimes overtake, but I do so safely... so tell me WHY do the person I overtake feel its a great idea to try and blind me at night by putting their lights on high beam once I am in front of them in protest! great idea idiot

Slow drivers, now I really think there needs to be more enforcement of a lower speed limit on some roads, now don't get me wrong I do expect everyone to be doing 60 in a 60, especially on country lanes, but when you are in a car, and being overtaken by a HGV on a motorway or worse on a single carriage road, questions need to be asked about whether you should be driving at all, 40 MPH on a motorway or dual carriage way is to me more dangerous than someone doing 80-90 or even 100, people going slow also causes road rage, and we all know where that can lead!

Politicians - Promises Promises Promises and nearly always broken, and yet we always accept it! ah they turnipped that up, but you know in a few years we will vote them in again! best I do not go too much into this area or we may have issues!

Tech Haters - See I think I should explain a bit more on this one, fast. It is those people who do not want their kids to have any tech at all what so ever, and do not feel that tech is good, Tech is Good, it has enable us to do so so much, I understand the notion of remembering to do things without tech and all that, but tech is good.

And now the big one, which has recently made me come out of a long term relationship, some may feel I over reacted, but oh well...

I recently raised this point in a discussion group, and seems majority of people agree that blaming games for violence is bullsh*t. If that was the case, I'd be friggin' dressing bandicoots up in shorts and spinning it around to break boxes, or I'd be forcing frogs across the road, maybe eating mushrooms and jumping on walking mushrooms etc etc. Games don't make you murderous, unless there's some serious subliminal message conspiracy going on in games these days...

And it's one of my annoyances as well...

It's all just lazy journalism pandering to the crowd they know wants to hear what they have no problem with saying. Thing is, it's just them searching for something they can link to and say "look at this"

How many kids these days play COD?

AT LEAST 25 million copies of Black Ops have been sold worldwide, so why don't we have 25 million mass murders?!?! We don't because computer games aren't the cause, but odds are that due to the amount that games sell these days that someone who goes out to kill has probably played a computer game at some point.

And if they don't, then I'm sure the media will find some other link to pander to...

Games don't make people violent - not teaching children that games and tv and movies aren't real and aren't examples of what is right - can make people violent. If you look at what "reality tv" has become, which is basically a display of the WORST possible behavior, you see that kids don't have half a chance anymore.

Kids these days are just turning into spoilt brats in general. I think the problem is relaxed parents who don't install any discipline into their children and always let them have their own way. Kids this year will be getting £400 iPads, iPods, iPhones, XBoxs et al for Christmas, and the sad thing is they'll be disappointed if they don't get it.

I grew up reading books, making models out of K-NEX and Meccano, going fishing, being involved in sports clubs, watching a healthy amount of TV, and while I had a playstation I had to ask permission to play it! I'm not even talking about years and years ago, I was a 90s child.

I know times have changed but it's a little bit sad that kids are now more interested in having the latest iPhone or COD game than doing something productive.

Just to add... I'm not even anti-technology. It's just through growing up and now working full-time I'm so glad I had such an active childhood because now I don't really get time for anything other than a bit of football and seeing my friends. I wonder if the 'Xbox generation' will come to regret not doing more when their time comes.

mate i was the same (born in '86)

i use to have a mega drive, that i was only allowed to play on sundays, for 1 hour with a neighbour friend.
meccano i had too, that was pretty awesome, use to make helicopters and cars and stuff! (it had a small motor which we rarely got working)

when i was young, we use to play sooo much football outside, it was ridiculous, nowadays its harder (we use to play 2 games of 5-a-side a week) but now i don't think i'll get that opportunity.

i think i'll put in too much gaming as an annoyance, and at too young an age!

Yeah, sure.

One reason is the other kids at school. If one kid gets it, then the rest will bug the parents to get them one too. From my time, back in the 90's, when my friend brought a Game-Boy in the class. Right before Christmas... In January every kid had a Game-Boy, that or the Game-Gear.

It's not just that! I was born '90 and we had a mega drive but I was never stopped from playing on it or watching tv. It was just that I enjoyed playing with lego/meccano/toys in general. Now whenever I'm home I play on the xbox with my brother (born '98) but I try to play cards and stuff with him too.

Its actually quite horrible some of the stuff you see on these trendy facebook teen pages (that's generalising, but most of the ones that pop in my feed are from my teen cousin's liked pages so thats what I see and shake my head at.)

Another Facebook thing (again to do with trendy teens) which grips my goat, is the popular belief by 90's babies (not all, just certain ones) that they are the generation that changed everything. I've seen posts stating how 90's kids were the first to play video games, the first to use texts, the first ones to use CDs, the only ones who saw cartoon network etc. I just looked at the posts and wondered what part of their brain had ceased to function to make them claim such nonsense... and then there's the "rate this teen" competitions and such where they rate eachother's self-taken photos with their cool emo-sh*t clothing.

Basically, my gripe, is modern teens. Ignorant spoilt brats, the majority of them. Grrrr, I'm not even an old man yet!

When people don't filter off the dual carriageway to turn in to the petrol station, but instead come to almost a complete stop in the inside lane in the dual carriageway and then do a 90 degree left turn. As I live beside this petrol station...it is a daily annoyance

I'd like to add the idiot in my office (every office has one).

He says the crappiest jokes all the time, to the point that he apologises straight afterwards. Apologises, which means he acknowledges the fact that he talks out of his bum most times, but still goes on and does it.



He was even - I kid you not - drum-rolling himself in the beginning when saying a stupid thing, as if he was on stage. Thank god he stopped that.

Today's annoyance: PS3 game freezing after 40 minutes in a single online game. *bangs head against wall*

The problem isn't even in any of my machines, it's a game server that simply won't cut it. It's a known problem and has been for a long time, but it's annoying every single time.

Today I am annoyed at the F1 online store for waiting until my pre-order item was in stock before picking the rest of the items and then no longer having one of those items by the time they did. And more annoyed that they didn't notify me of this and give me a chance to choose another item before shipping my order which was for enough $ to qualify for free shipping, because now if I want to get a replacement item for the one thats out of stock I will have to pay a million bucks to ship it. Which means not only can I not give the Christmas gift I wanted to give, but now if I want to give something else, it will cost double the money. :rageface:
