And here's me and my eldest son riding up it last summer. That first wiggles are about 2.5 miles, there's another 7 miles after that to the top of the Col du Chaussy!





This one shows the town in the background that we started at and the photo was taken part way down. It was quite a climb to the very top!

Quitana could pretty much win it. Very nice Tour this year.

Also I think all accusation against Froome are unfair. He is nowhere near as strong as cyclists during Armstrong era. Quintana was very close, Contator rode Giro and Nibali was simply weaker.

Over all the mountain stages split between the Alpes and Pyrenees, Quintana was faster than Froome. The sceptics don't bother to look at stats like that though...

My goodness this years Paris Roubaix is exciting. So much drama (as usual in this race) and I really have no idea who is going to win.

This was bizarre incident, but it would also be unfair for other riders, especially Molema to neutralize times. It wasn't flat stage where you can give same time to everyone. They all had to ride on steep uphill till the end.

Crowd encroachment is becoming a more significant issue, year on year it seems. Think race direction got it correct in terms of official times for classification but something needs to be done about the crowds. It's great to see the level of support but a bit much for near-exhausted riders to have to cope with spectators being so much in their faces.

I was staggered to see Froome being able to run so quickly up a steep hill in shoes that have a completely solid sole and cleats sticking out of the bottom! I can barely walk on the flat in mine...

Another stage win for Cav... might he actually match, or even surpass the great Eddy Merckx?

Any thoughts on the final week of le tour? Does Froome - barring accidents or mechanicals - have it in the bag, or will someone take a big gamble and attack early and hard?
