After I've finished reading my 7th-consecutive biography on a Formula One driver I'm wondering whether or not to read For Whom The Bell Tolls or Dostoyevsky's Demons. Any suggestions as to which I should take?

My hat is off to you! Which driver have you read 7 biographies on? :D

Actually, you remind me I have a Senna one waiting for me. Too much Battle of Britain stuff on my mind, I'm afraid.

Gah. New router was installed last night. It still has the occasional hiccup but nothing like the old one had. Unfortunately that's made room for my poor laptop to show her age and refuse to hold two browsers and my Twitter client open for any real length of time. She's also blue-screening a lot more than before, which shows categorically that she's rather long since past her best. Sadly that means I need to wait until Easter for a [hopefully] internet-capable laptop [my newer, faster one for some reason is incapable of communicating with TalkTalk routers...] which my uncle is providing as a surprise, if late, Christmas present. In the meantime, therefore, I need a coping mechanism for the stress of computer problems. Not to mention the vacuum cleaner that elected to explode this morning.

Are there any crates of metnal vokdae left over from Ronda's legendary NYE rampage?

I might as well leave. My boss has *inaudible* off for the weekend and I am absolutely mentally checked out at this point. Seriously, I've just been reading about disasters on Wikipedia. I have something on in the lab to run, but I've basically just given up for Easter.

I think I'm goign to have to go to the pub and get a nice single malt or something to relax me.

I was told to process and order for 3 sets 500 items today, and as it turns out the people approving it only saw part of the itemised quote and so thought the value was about half that of the actual amount. The company has now gone to print on them. I really better not have to pay the £700 extra here. I've now had to cancel the items (accepting someone will have to pay for cancellation).

The worst thing is that this is a small company I was ordering from and they had been very, very good to us to get items processed quick and allow us to submit artwork for them much later than would normally be acceptable. It probably looks to them like I'm just a total scumbag jerking them around. Seriously, next time they ask me to organise an event I'll tell them where to go, the last few days have been remarkably stressful and I'm really not happy about it.

Edit: Now being asked to just get part of the order? Are these people kidding me? I've told them to contact the company themselves as they are probably pretty tiddled off at me by this point.

Edit Again: Seriously. Seri-ducking-ously. I'm about to have a ducking breakdown.

Edit: Nope, cancelled again. What a fairy cakes managed affair.

*cracks open the simple Malt and pours out two tumblers*

How about this.... In 48 hours I am homeless. Council housing has been holy annoying as there has been numerous houses that I have enough points for and would cater for my disabilities.... But as they are 60+ housing.... I'm not applicable...

I've pushed the issue today after seeing some 60+ places in the latest edition of the housing list..... But the woman overseeing my application has gone home for the day...

*Pours out another glass*

I may have slightly a little teensy bit upset the EDL. One of their number just dropped me this beautifully worded message on Facebook:

"yur an enamy of this cuntry if yu think paki cunts deserve to rape n tortor are kida n i wil silens yu moo-pickle"

I don't even know what comment that was in response to. Especially as I only engage the EDL on Twitter.

I'm quite intrigued to know what the naughty word is if you had no problem publishing "cunts"...

Nonetheless I've had similar messages, mostly from people thinking I'm black or gay just because i beleive in equality. I often find it best to laugh them off :)

Do we do painkillers here (given it is all imaginary, we probably do!).

Just decked it over my ankle and it is hurting like chocolate fudge cake right now. Was using a trolley to move some equipment and crushed my hand in the lift between the moving trolley and the wall. Fingers swelling up a bit. Hips are bruised on the outside from sleeping in a tent this weekend so was waking up every time I rolled over in my sleep last night. Liver still grumbling from drinking a fair bit this weekend too.

Basically, after my holiday away, I feel like I could do with a few days off to recuperate.

Nah, got too much to do. Ankle still very sore. Hope it's just superficial and shortlasting.

On the plus side, I'm writing a wee program for some work I'm doing. I laughed quite a lot when I had to right "Fill Ratio" because it sounds like fellatio. Simple things!
