I've spent all day trying to write an essay and have managed to get through only 500 words.
I think I need a drink.

Although I now need three, because after having two friends sleep over last night - they needed internet cos theirs has gone down, and they ended up here til about 4am - the engaged one turned round and said she thinks she's falling in love with me.

If her fiance wasn't treating her right, or she obviously didn't want/need him, then fair enough I might allow myself to see if I had feelings for her. As it is, he's one of the loveliest guys I know, he probably saved her life by being there for her when he was, and I'm struggling to see how I can compare with that, and even what's going on in her head to make her think I do.

Coming right up hun.

In other news of my troubles, I'll copy from AutoSport:

Bloody hell.

I just witnessed what I think is the beginning of the end of our English & Drama society: our social secretary has signed a contract with a local pub ensuring us sponsorship for the year. So far, so good. Except the tiny detail that on top of all our regular projects, he has agreed to our writers' group writing them a fresh script every month, along with the main society casting/performing it. We physically haven't got either the time or the number of people to make it happen this year.

I've offered, for the sake of keeping the peace, to head up a seperate team of people to cover our extra workload, but the leader of the writers' group has decided this isn't viable, and instead has gone on the warpath, via threatening one of the other committee members, deciding to meet the social secretary now without any of the other writers there [including me, who was the perfect intermediary] or any of the committee [who really need to know what's going on].

I wish I wasn't T-total now...!

Sounds fun. I suppose technically a script with minor changes made is kinda a new script though? But I guess this is more of an issue of being able to do it well rather than just absolutely half-arsedly and sullying a reputation you are all trying to build.

Technically yes, but I'm not sure anyone would accept that.

We've now been told by the society committee that we're an "irritation" and we need to have a meeting to decide - read: be told - where we go from here, and whether the group can continue as we are - read: the group will cease being what it currently is - which none of us are exactly looking forward to.

Thanks mac!

Birthday was awesome: woke up next to a hot blonde, then had someone cook me lasagne followed by chocolate cake, then went very hyper, then started drinking, then ended up paddling in the flooded Lidl car park at about 3am. Only thing that was missing was what happened last year on my birthday: the Brazilian Grand Prix!!

I'll have a blue powerade. I have a hangover due to going ****ing mental last night with a few pals. Blue powerade and a greggs Red thai Chicken Sandwich usually help quite a lot.

Scared to drink Red Bull to keep me awake (I got home just before 6 and got up for work at 7:15) the stomach is going mental at the moment.

From own experience I can say two soups deal with a hangover pretty well; a Vietnamese Pho Bo and a Polish Żurek (sour soup).

Double measure of Tennesse's finest whiskey on the rocks for me... Works christmas party tonight and I cannot attend :(
Well, i could attend, but I'd have to drive as the party is miles and miles away from where I live (a good hour's drive) and there's no way I'm paying for that taxi! If they'd of said about the party dates sooner instead of changing it every hour, could've booked hotel. Alas, night in with the St Bernards tonight. Joy. About that whiskey...

*pours out order... Then pours out one for me*

Survived Xmas shopping....it was brutal.. Think I took out about 40 sets of ankles trying to battle the crowds... As well as spending 10 minutes trying to get into the freaking lifts as they were all too full to get my wheelchair in them...

Think you've earnt that drink far more than me! I've got Christmas shopping to do this weekend, I don't look forward to it. I think christmas should be about allocating money to people you like, and then letting them choose a present. No one's disappointed then, and those that are, don't matter :)

Just had an email from my poetry tutor - apparently my poetry needs to be more song-like. I replied, admitting I had in fact used an old set of SONG LYRICS which happened to fit the task she had set for us. Can't wait to see her reply...!

She might just reply that the song was crap though! Or the song wasn't song-y enough!

I always hated poetry, I was terrible at it. I really don't have a creative streak for that kind of business.

Given recent history, she probably wants to ask me to do something else that isn't really what I'm supposed to do...

Seriously, pretty much every day I get an email from one of my bosses asking to do something in a short time-frame. The task itself is doable in that window, except i usually have 2 or 3 things at the same time and I'm supposed to get into the lab at some point to actually do my own work.
