A V12, ground effect and under 1000kg. This thing is going to be insanely fast.

What does unveiled mean here? Is this a car that has been designed and that is being unveiled or one that is ready to be driven?

I'd love to see this thing in action

i really like the new nsx, it has two seats, not one

Looks good, but I'll probably cancel my pre-order as I just can't see how I'm going to get my weekly groceries home in it.

ground effect will not work on public roads with a 60 or 70 mph limit though

That is true, but this one is meant to be used on the track as well. A number of them won't even be made street-legal.

Probably faster than the RB-12.

If a car designed to challenge F1 cars on speed wasn't function over form, you'd have to seriously question its intent. I like that it's clearly been designed to be quick instead of just looking pretty.

However, the Ferrari 250 GTO was also designed to be as quick as possible, without any aesthetics purpose and it resulted in the most beautiful car ever.

From other angles it's not as bad as the photo in the OP and when it comes to race cars I don't have a problem with function over form.

But, for me, this whole project is a bit of an odd bird. It's meant to be a track worthy hyper-car capable of being competitive with the best race cars. Again, for me, an exotic hyper-car should be as much about it's aesthetics as it's performance. For the stated purpose I'd be happier with something long the lines of the Red Bull X cars than this.

Aesthetically, it sucks. This is a "pretty" car only in the eyes of those who bought one. But from the perspective of engineering and aerodynamics, this will burn up the track, a real rocket.

Couldn't they have filled that gap in, even if it was just with a mesh or something...

I quite like the angle in the first post, but from other angles the looks are not.. well great, but interesting. Can't wait to see it on the track/road though, haven't been able to find a first test date yet. It's bad that the real top gear is gone, otherwise it would probably top the chart for a long time.

I wouldn't say she's the prettiest girl at the dance. In fact i'm going to say IMO it's just downright ugly.

The gap between the front and rear wheels is used to extract the air from the front end. Basically, the car is a double diffuser design. One diffuser is working the front wheels, and another the rear.

This is a no-nonsense approach to creating maximum downforce with minimal concessions to styling.
