Narrowly averted from a weekend of commentators orgasming over Paul Di Resta. Phew!

That was some timing from the RB duo and Hamilton. Räikkönen was about five seconds too late, he would've been up there with them.

What could this mean for the race? Hamilton and Vettel in the front row with Räikkönen and Alonso far behind isn't too unusual, but it's going to be interesting anyway. This is Spa, after all.

Di Resta: "I've got to say it was quite a ballsy decision by myself."

Ferrari did a horrible job

Bit of a crapshoot really though. The top 3 were lucky to get an extra lap in, while the likes of Kimi, Rosberg, Alonso and Button were unlucky to not get another lap in.

I'm watching the BBC coverage and I've no idea what you're talking about.

They've been singing Spa's praises as an F1 venue and prattling on about the Force India's near miss.

Hardly a mention of Lewis.

if hamilton, webber and vettel had taken the finish flag, he would have taken the first position!
mercedes have both a wet set up in my opinion! and rosberg is in a great position for the race: it's spa and all will happen here!

Not really noticed much on Sky, they're singing the praises of the pole-sitter, like they normally do.

To be fair, it was all in track position. Both Hamilton and Mercedes did well to get him in the right place at the right time.

I'm not patriotic in the least, but what do you expect from a British-made broadcast for British people?

I wouldn't call it a choke. More of a case of last one over the line has the best conditions

...lol?

RB has been fastest all weekend, and he was in the same 30 meters of track as the 2 RBs, I really, really doubt the grip changed to the extent that it was the deciding factor in under 5 seconds.

Time for credit where credit is due I think.

Unlucky for Di Resta though, gamble nearly paid off very big, still placed very nicely for tomorrow.

well she predicted before the qualies that Mercedes are going for a wet setup today. As much as I love Hamilton today's quali was more about beeing on track at the right time :smug:

What a Q3 that was! Unfortunate for Di Resta and Rosberg but the top three look great for tomorrow

Hamilton was a couple of seconds behind Vettel on the road, i doubt the circuit dries that quickly.

As a previous poster said though, the top 3 all finished their laps within a few seconds of each other, the track wouldn't really improve much in that time.

The Mercs are obviously on a wet set up. Nico's first lap in Q3 in the rain pretty much gave that away. If it does not rain expect to see Vettel fly away tomorrow.

Some of you do talk rubbish.

Lewis gets pole, the BBC scarely utter his name, and now they're being accused of bias?

Stop embarrassing yourselves.
