Summer break

Post by Mr-E »

I't's going to feel like a long time.. But after that comes the best circuit on the calender imo..
But the idea of the thread is: What will you do to get your F1 fix during the break? I will probably watch some classic races again, maybe watch the Senna documentary again, watch out for any news regarding the empty RBR seat and hope Dan gets it.
Any other ideas on F1 related things that will make the wait easier?

I though the break was for the whole of August but they're at Spa before the end of next month. Only four more weeks to wait.

The perfect time to go to the 'Attending GPs' thread to answer my and other people's questions because I'm going to Spa and I want to be ready! :D

Unfortunately, not much going on at my local race circuit but there is the Indycar series, always old F1 races and documentaries that can be found if inclined and a trip to the library usually finds something that I haven't read. Motorsport magazine keeps me going too. And how could I forget-The Ashes!

Well I have the F1 2012 game to help with my fix and a bit of Gran Turismo 5! Add me for some clean races on either of the games my PSN is Quasar100

On another note... WTF!!!

We just had like three weeks and now the summer break, they should have done two back to back race weekends and then a summer break! It's too long, I can't take it.

Well just like the drivers I'll take a break from F1 so I won't do anything F1 related except for maybe checking the F1 news every few days.
As for not F1 related well there are some movies to watch, comics to read and of course working on my collections and maybe start writing again.

It doesn't really feel like a "break" as such. The gap between races is so long this season that it's just going to feel like it has done all year.

We have had 3 weeks between Germany and Hungary, now 4 weeks between Hungary and Belgium.
Its frustrating as hell.

Yup like I said they should have had two races back to back before this bloody vacation!

Whoever decided on the schedule needs a slap, why would you put possibly the most boring and dull track right in the middle of a 7 week break? its crazy. :(

Well for the teams this is their break! The 3 weeks before Hungary included YDT weekend.

It's bizarre that we're having 4 weeks off just off the back of a 3 week break.

Thats right, they might as well have moved it up or back and had a 6 week gap.

Not really practical, but it would be nice to see some sort of 6 week series to fill the gap.

All the F1 are locked out, but what a bout a series for young (or old) drivers in old F1 cars?
Say up to 5 years old and standardised with weight penalties to level the field based on the race or quali results from th year they actually ran?

Sponsors would be pleased, track owners would be pleased TV and we would b happy to have something going on too

This may even be a good slot for the 'letric cars

Will probably dig out the old PC steering wheel and get a bin of Simbin racing action on the go.
For once I'm quite looking forward to the start of the football season too.

Isn't the reason there has been 2 long gaps due to new jersey not going ahead?
