That was by far Vettel's best drive ever.

He overtook numerous cars and kept pushing forward with fantastic pace.

I was wondering why there was no thread in support of Vettel till now. If anyone deserves one, he does. I am sure that he will become the youngest ever Triple F1 champion (by almost 6 years if I recall correctly) but also the first man in F1 history to defend his first title twice in succession. No one has done it before.

I don't think he'll use a new one until he wins with his current one, some kind of thing he does I guess.

What a stupid inane comment from Vettel. Since English is not his first language, he cannot understand that many people will find his swearing offensive. It's not about being "sensitive" it's about declining standards and common decency at a time when kids may be watching. Does he not know that when shows include "strong language" (after 21.00) the viewer is quite rightly warned at the start?

Would tend to agree. I wonder, does Vettel swear on German TV? or is not such a big deal to him because it's in a foreign language.

OK, so Vettel slipped up and made an error. He has apologised for it and that should be the end of it.

But in truth, Hamilton's 'Monkey' comment back in 2007 is a lot more insulting and personally directed but since it was not in the Little Red Book's swear word list, it was convenienetly forgotten.

Sure, he has the fastest car....because he drives it fast!

Let us look at logically. Even the most biased and braindead Vettel-haters cannot deny that the Red Bulls do not have a great top-end speed. Therefore, the team sets the cars up in such a way - spearheaded by Newey's designs - to qualify well and lead from the front. They have no other choice and we have seen that if a Red Bull falls behind, it is not easy to overtake. The great thing about Vettel is that he recognises the car's strengths and limitations and adjusts his driving to maximise the advantage. To me that translates as great driving skill and that is the reason he has won 2 championships and may well win a third and more.

Of course, you will continue to get all sorts of unadultrated BS about why it is the car and not Vettel while with their favoruite drivers it is always the other way around.

PS: I know you cannot read much into the first Friday practice but 1.5 seconds faster than the next guy and over 2 seconds faster than Alonso is not a bad start. :)

Haters gonna hate.

I have no doubt that if Vettel and Alonso we're in the same car, Vettel would come out on top.

I didn't think much of the swearing when it happened, I just thought it was part of live TV. I do however find that quote from Vettel unbelievable, it shows complete disrespect towards a much needed younger audience.
I work in leisure and when I'm around adult company I swear a fair bit, but if there's a kid I try not to and if I do slip up I'll apologise - I don't say "oh well, they shouldn't be here"

He also said.

"It was unnecessary to create such a big fuss. Anyway, if I said some things that were not appropriate then I apologise. But there isn't a lot I have to do differently to succeed in that regard."

I still think parents need to chill out, don't watch live coverage if you don't like curse words, cause It happens from time to time. Not such an insane comment IMO

Fantastic performance by Sebastian to snap pole from Lewis, especially with all the pressure mounted by Alonso this weekend. Let's hope they all get pass turn one this race.

I feel like it is Vettel against everyone. Alonso has a teammate that takes grid penalties for him. He has Massa staying out on track to hold people up for him, he has Hamilton taking the fight to Vettel for him.

Go Vettel!!!!!!!!!!

That was on the end not so good race, he made up only two points from the car that is 40 seconds slower than him per race. in Brazil, one little incident or accident and his championship is gone.

But we keep hope.

Sick and tired of hearing how fast his car is.... The Macca is every bit as fast. Seb just happens to be pushing this car to great heights. The Ferrari is not that slow. In fact it looks quite fast in Massa's hands of late.

Brazil in his own words, congrats Vettel, you are the best in F1 atm.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104593

Q. Has your achievement sunk in yet?

Sebastian Vettel: No. I haven't had any time for myself really yet, it is very difficult to find the right words especially after the race today - what could go wrong went wrong. But we always kept believing, instead of getting angry or frustrated, imagine you are the wrong way around at Turn 4; it looked like I had a lot of cars coming then I went off brake as everyone went in my direction so to join them I tried to go down hill and avoid cars going backwards.

We kept car damage to the limit, we saw in dry conditions the pace was not there and we were slow down straight which made it easy for others to pass us and difficult for us to pass someone. Then we then lost the radio, did a pit stop at the wrong time, got dry tyres then it rained, then the inters were not ready as I didn't have radio, then we got caught up in the wet conditions.

Fortunately the pace was there - you could make up for the loss of car pace by driving different lines and doing something different to others, then to limp home under safety car – obviously at that moment I didn't know if it was enough. I was told a couple of laps before it was fine then I saw the crash of Nico [Hulkenberg]/[Lewis] Hamilton and I knew Fernando was ahead and I know they were ahead of him so I didn't know, then to get told was unbelievable but the guys couldn't hear my answer as the radio was broken.

I am still full of adrenaline, it was an incredible race today, harder for us, not just the others, the circumstances with the damage on the car, losing radio in these conditions when communications is so crucial, stopping early, not having tyres ready. You guys had your show and we had to really fight until the end.
