I have a sad feeling that this maybe his last year (at Ferrari, at least!) :(

That said, If Felipe thinks this too, he might just go and up his game to get noticed for another seat... Question is where could he go?

However, for 2012...

GO FELIPE!!!

The only options beyond 2012 he possibly might have would be Lotus or Williams. I don't think he will set himself with anything lower than that, like Sauber, Force India, etc. Else, he would call it a day and join Rubens or do some occasional racing like 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But, if he will get better results and/or start beating Fernando in races, that would be a fresh start for him.

Hmm. I would think that Sauber may appeal to him, especially if the car has some pace this year and the rumours that Ferrari are looking to Perez as Massa's replacement are true. It would be a neat switch between the two, and he'd be back at his first team - a team he knows, along with an engine he knows.

Great race for Felipe, his best result since 2010! Podiums look now just around the corner!

Go Felipe!

He did great and he really picked up the pace when Kimi was catching up.

Once again like at Monaco and Canada his pace was similar, if not faster than the leaders. Felipe's speed is there and his confidence was a big as that smile he had after the race.

Here to a win at Hockenheim and maybe even Hungary. Both are tracks he have fantastic records at.

Go Felipe!

...much as i adore Felipe and excited by the upturn in his form, i dont (sadly) see him winning in 2012 while being 100+ points behind Alonso - Ferrari wouldn't allow that.

Good to see him back somewhere close to his best (post-accident levels anyway), still has some work to do to secure the seat for next season though

Once he gets comfortable with the car, the guy is electric. He won't be sacked and I'm sure a string of strong results will continue  .

You know, if Massa had passed Schumacher earlier on, he would've won this race.

Imagine that... 8O

He brought in some points today. I wish he got off to a better start and in that second stint his times were quicker than Senna's and Webber's. Just not the place to overtake.

Heres to a great second half!

In all seriousness, it's a shame to see Massa completely destroyed - he's a shell of the guy he was in 2008 where the future looked really bright for him, but that year really was going to be the only time he was close to a WDC, much like Webber in 2010. He's *definitely* different to how he was pre-accident.

In what way he is different? Results speak otherwise, he outqualified Fernando Alonso, the best driver in F1, in his first quali returning after accident in 2010. He outqualified him or was very close multiple times in these 3 years. Few times he outraced Alonso fair and square. Does any handicapped driver would be able to do that? Just because Alonso is so much better than Massa it doesn't mean Massa has lost anything because of accident. If he lost something it's because Alonso is trashing him and he simply can't cope with it.

That's why I really, and I mean REALLY, would love to see the likes of Kovalainen or Kobayashi in second Ferrari. Just to see if there would be comments from fans and media about their retirement from F1, because Alonso would be beating them as much, if not more than currently he is beating Massa. And I have absolutely no doubt that would happen.

Felipe Massa is good driver. You don't win races with Schumacher or Raikkonen as teammates if you're bad. He's good, but not very good, great or special. Simply good and there are at least 5 drivers on grid, which should leave F1 before Massa.

Hopefully he'll be in F1 next year. He has still something to show and he's perfectly capable of doing so.

Too far, like Button he had a tough first half to the season but he's more or less back on the pace now and scoring points. It's just that he's being measured against possibly the best driver on the grid in 2012. I do agree Massa is not as strong post-accident.

You can't really say that about Webber, 2012 has been more like 2010 than 2011 which was really the blip as he's still ahead of Vettel at this point in the season.

It was about time!! Good drive from Felipe, actually very surprising considering that the pace of the Ferraris wasn't so good in qualy.

It seems they gave him the magical WHITE VISOR today...

Good to see him perform again. I hope he keeps this form for the rest of the year, keeps his seat for next year and then maybe we can see a real inter-team battle at Ferrari.

He pulled the bottle of champagne with his leg, and seeing it coming out, sprayed it before time. :)

Just came into this thread and the main thing I can take away from it (apart from enjoying seeing Felipe praise!) is how bloody good the Ferrari looks in those pictures. So so so so much more beautiful and flowing than this year's. I'd almost forgot how beautiful they were.
