The Uncertainty of Formula 1's Furture - I see this article today and a it does seriously raise questions for the sport. Withh many teams employing sponsered drivers over paid ones and countries hosting F1 races on their respected circuits say they cost too much with the like of Belgium, Turkey and many others.

I would really, REALLY! hate if Spa goes of the calender.

Please voice your opinions...

TBH the only thing uncertain is the future of a couple of teams. Thats all. Some teams will go new teams will come in. The sport will go on. No matter what the conditions are. The sport has been through a lot of difficult situation since its onset and will continue to weather it for a long time to come. The sport is just going through a small "Crisis". The only thing that may stop it is if a World War breaks out.

This is nothing new. Teams have come and gone as have circuits. The sport was very successful with 10 teams for years and it only had 16 Grand Prixs for years as well. I prefer having 20 races and loads of teams but the spot itself is as strong as its ever been.

Catch up TV has a lot to do with that. People can just watch the race later if they want these days.

Just an article that I found which gives a rough idea of where the TV audience is... Maybe this is a topic for another discussion but just to review since the tv topic came up.

I dunno where that figure is from but remember Bernies "official" figures used to also use people watching the news if it gave F1 results and showed any clip. If it's a "Bernie" figure I would highly suspect the old codger would have catch up TV in there too.

The big 2012 drop was however mainly due to China's own sporting events, so the actual figure is probably slightly less dramatic, but still cause for concern if it keeps happening.
