Favorite flat out, full throttle section?

Which section gives you the greatest thrill, both watching and/or driving on a sim, and why?

I'd vote for Brazil, the feeling you get on flat out, flowing, uphill climb is so exhilarating, it's like you can actually feel the car's awesome grunt underneath you. Not to mention, you're inches away from ramming headfirst into the pit entry wall.

Silverstone because the speed of direction change the cars take through there still boggles my mind each and every year.

The OP has missed perhaps THE most challenging one. It's in Spa, and is much more challenging these days than Eu Rouge or Blanchimont.
It's Pouhon.

And if Tamburello from Imola is there( and I think the OP means pre-1994 Imola), then why isn't Turkey's turn 8 there?

It's Pouhon.
Pouhon needs braking to 4th gear iirc. The thread isn't about hairy corners, it's about sustained max rpm sections. If I ever make a thread on best corners, Pouhon would be a definite inclusion.

Same logic as Pouhon.

after St Devote for the close weaving walls & bumpy road, Maggots - Becketts because of the direction change, Back straight in Sepang because of the braking zone and the entrance to the straight, and the Casino straight in Canada because it provides so many good overtakes and duels and leads onto the final chicane

Only one answer for me: Eau Rouge. Few more monts and I'll be standing there again, can't wait.

For me definitely La Source through Eau Rouge. Onboards through that section are just breathtaking, even moreso since we have seen a couple of overtakes in that section as well over the last couple of years.

I know it is not there but Turkey's turn 8 is my favorite.

From the list Eau Rouge

Valencia's last sector had a very peculiar flat-out false-straight.

Magny cours had a couple of full throttle sections very challenging, the old Hockenheim was actually a big straight, I don't have any preferences actually.

Where is Valencia?? And definitely turn 8 of turkey.

For me it was a tough one between "Juncao to Senna S, Interlagos" and "La Source, through Eau Rouge", but I voted Interlagos because I think there's still more action there.

I was under the impression Turn 8, Turkey was not a flat out corner. Is it?
Added Valencia.

Holy mother of god, do the poll results get wiped if a new entry is added?

Seeing an F1 car come out of Tabac through the first part of the swimming pool is pretty spectacular I can tell you!

Sigh. There will always be a few things I'd miss. I could add them, but the existing poll results would get wiped, and it already got wiped once when I added Valencia.

PS : No love for Catalunya? :?

A straight line, even if it is wavy, is not necessarily spectacular. I would consider Turn 3 from that circuit, that's great, I remember walking around the circuit and hearing the cars gearing up while negotiating that turn, it was the V10 era then and it sounded like hell.

I don't know if they get to full throttle, but I really liked turn 2 onwards in Austin last year. Alternatively, Eau Rouge and Radillion in reverse! There was an onboard vid that Bruno took on his phone whilst doing this at a demo, it's a lot scarier when you're ploughing down towards Radillion and instead of the grass run off there's a wall there!

I absolutely love watching the cars approach the Bus Stop chicane at full throttle & then braking hard in order to get through.

My second choice would be the same scenario on the approach to Rettifilo at Monza.

Among the ones i choose, Stavelot to Bus Stop chicane, through the twin Blanchimont left handers, Spa was my favourite. Not my favourite in the technical category by any means, but the length of the section and its build up provides a wonderfully long period of max revs till the point that you think that the engine will blow. Always search on board footage of this section if i want to listen to a particular cars engine.

St. devote-Casino. Turn 8 Turkey and Tunnel Monaco if they were there.

Stavelot to Bus Stop for me.

I have to admit though that the last section of the Valencia street circuit is brilliant with cars running really close to the walls on both sides as it twists. This is followed by a heavy breaking zone taken whilst having to turn right and preparing to go left.

Stavelot to Bus Stop. If you have the car, you can go flat out through the second Stavelot which takes you close to the barrier, and then of course you had through Blanchimont.

Voted for the China straight, the two choices from Spa, and 130R.

This poll made me appreciate Spa even more. The day they remove this circuit from the calendar will be the day when... <insert sad stuff here>

Silverstone, SPA (both), Monte Carlo and Suzuka for me.

the 130R and turn 8 Turkey being the most challenging. I would say turn 8 turkey is the best for me, it is only flat out depending on the regs. in 2010-2011 only RBR did it flat out

Interlagos and Spa, because they both have topography to deal with.

Love 130R but couldn't vote for it because I always remember it most fondly as a place where drivers lifted
