Thought it would be a good idea to list the names of possible drivers that have missed out on a seat for 2013

Kobayashi
Di Resta (yet to be confirmed at Force India)
Kovalainen
Petrov
Karthikyan
De La Rosa
D'Ambrosio
Senna
Sutil
Alguersuari
Buemi
Liuzzi
Chandhok
Van Der Garde
da Costa
Rossi

A lot of those weren't really going for a seat anyways. And Di Resta is going to be confirmed sooner or later, that's pretty obvious. The real list would look more like this:

Kobayashi
Kovalainen
Petrov
Karthikeyan
De La Rosa
D'Ambrosio
Senna
Sutil
Alguersuari
Buemi
Van Der Garde

This is still leaving out the fact that Sutil, Petrov,, Kovalainen, and possibly Van der Garde have a shot at making it.

I just read that Kovalainen is out of the running for the Caterham seat. It's unlikely that Force India will pick him.

I think you mean or. There are only 2 seats left. 1 at Caterham, 1 at Force India.

I've heard a couple of rumours about that too. Have you got a link?

I have a bad feeling Caterham will screw themselves with their drivers

Another one is that Petrov's talks have stalled :

They are stuck at the minute the car isn't good enough, even with a paid driver if the car is not good enough you wont get anywhere better to have a pay driver with some talent that can at least attribute to improving the car and team funds wise to a point then go for a paid driver who can extract the most from the car. As has been said tail end of the season petrov began to outshine HK even before brazil so why keep HK if pay drivers can get the same results and bring in revenue.

It's ridiculous the cavalier attitude Caterham holds for their drivers..

Slightly off topic but last thing that I heard was Vijay Malya also has lost his seat. :D

I don't see Vijay or Force India being around much longer...

i guess it depends on how committed sahara is, and also kingfisher is only part of VJMs operations although i agree looks back funding an f1 team and investing £50m into it when other businesses that pay for your f1 team is going down hill

With Kovalainen pretty much confirmed to be out of the running, and PEtrov once again running into sponsorship issues, I imagine the decision will be between Senna and van der Garde (possibly could have been referring to Alguersuari or Razia too, but I haven't heard of any connection between Alguersuari and Caterham, and Razia's lack of sponsorship makes him a less than hopeful prospect of helping them maintain a good budget for the 2014 vehicle). Personally, neither of the first two options excites me, but I'm sure Senna would do a solid job. Van der Garde, on the other hand, is a completely underwhelming choice and I feel would get slaughtered by Pic.

just posted in empty seat thread Caterham have said they are ready to announce any day now and senna said he was returning to Europe today to finalize his 2013 plans, could just be coincidence but with petrovs issues i would sy likely
