The truth is, that can be anyone. There are of course usual suspects but nobody can be put out of equation in that regard.

Can someone be Vettel's cucumber this season and cost him the title?

It's got to be Grosjean hasn't it? Based on stats it's almost guaranteed to be him.

That said, I hope we have a relatively clean start. I'd rather everyone got to the end in the first race so we can see the pace of the cars and drivers.

That could be true but not you can't tar them all with the same brush, i don't recall many crashes for Pic last year, if any?

As the thread says first crash (but not necessarily in a race), I'd say in the first testing session. Maldonado

We even don't know yet the full grid.

I think it will be Lewis.

Eager to impress in a Mercedes that isn't as fast as McLaren, Ferrari or Red Bull he'll try something exciting into turn one. Brake locks, wheel on the grass or similar and he takes out the front runners. Button wins the race.

But I hope not. I want a JB vs Kimi vs Vettel Vs Alonso Vs Lewis fight through the season. Hell, I'd settle for any two of them fighting it out on any given race weekend.

On paper most people would think Grosjean, Maldonado or one of the new drivers, in reality it will most likely be one of these as well.

Not denying Hamilton had a superb year in 2012, and I want him to trounce the field with his Merc, but I can't help feeling he'll be the first big star crash of 2013.

I know Maldo has the Crashdonado tag well untruly branded on his forehead, but he hasn't been at fault many turn 1/lap 1 incidents so far. IIRC the only blatant one I remember last season was on De La Rosa at Monaco.

Lewis is no fool. He has no reason to go out aiming to look a hero in the first race. He'll get his head down and just work hard. I don't expect any poorly plotted moves designed to show the world he was right to move to Merc, not in the first race.

Grosjean kept getting involved in marginal incidents, only a few were blatantly errors. But sometimes statistics are the best.
