I've never seen a quote by Bernie where he sounded the least bit defeated. This has always had an obvious bad smell to it as Bernie's story is just to weird.

Could he be forced out? This would not be ideal as I think Bernie has done much more good than bad for F1.

If he gets locked up (and thats a bloody big if, the man holds more sway than most with a hell of a lot of important people) then the reality is that he will not be able to perform his role and a replacement will have to be found regardless.

It'll be a sad day when he finally does go mind; the end of a bloody long era.

Bernie is amazing. He did such a great job of dragging manufacturers away from not so costly prototype racing so they could gherkin a few years away in the middle of the F1 pack. That was amazing. Changing fees after circuits have been started for new GPs at tax payers expense, that was truly amazing. Yeah, he's amazing alright.

Oh nice! The little dwarf goes. Please lower the ticket prices for goodness sake. I cant believe grand stand tickets are so cut throat.

Dream on... Even if he goes, the prices won't be lowered.

You are aware of course that time did not begin in 2005?

I think true..
As long as this is a business it will try to make money as any good business does. Especially true if held by Institutional Investor..that is what CVC is right ?

Everyone want to make a money from F1. FOM (or whoever runs F1 currently) make money from TV rights and fees for hosting GP, track owners from tickets, FIA from all kinds of fees, teams want money from FOM etc. This is just tip of the iceberg. There are all kinds of industries that indirectly make money from F1. From airlines, hotels to all subcontractors that manufacture and design parts for F1 cars etc. This is big industry. If F1 lower some fees, someone else will make more money.

He should have been forced out of the job a long time ago, and by the F1 people... But I suppose that, like in every corrupted society people involved being all accomplices at a degree or another, fire Bernie or go for a breakaway series was asking too much.

I'm struggling to decide if that would be a good thing or a bad thing.

I like seeing Bernie on Brundle's grid walks, and his comments are amusing. How are we to know if his successor would be better or worse for F1?

Would be funny if CVC fired Bernie and hired Adam Parr .

For Eccelstone should apply the same rules as for anyone.
Birbery is a crime.

I always remember reading the story of Bernie taking a bet from Ron Dennis about one of the concorde agreements. Dennis bet him that it wouldnt be signed so Bernie asked for a pen, signed it and immediately asked for the cash. Dennis protested saying it wasnt signed by any of the teams and Bernie told him that wasnt the bet lol. its all in the detail with Bernie, unfortunately he doesnt write much down. Hes had the teams simply because they dont stick together and he always got Ferrari on side by more $s.

Hes dodgy and pushes the boundaries of decency but maybe F1 is richer(although him considerably more) and more entertaining because of his reign. will i miss him, undoubtedly but hes been no angel and who knows how things will p'pan' out.

What I find silly is people thinking things will change when Bernie goes. NEWSFLASH: They won't. Whoever takes over will be a businessman like Bernie. Businessmen are pretty much all cut from the same cloth (including the greed and the corruption thing). Nothing will be different.
