I am just starting to hate Red Bull to the core. Bloody sore LOSERS!!!

He also stated that he has confidence that the FIA will continue to withstand the lobbying from rival teams calling for the system to be banned and said that it was a low-cost item to copy,

“It’s just a couple of carbon pipes running down the car,”he revealed, “They cost thousands, not millions. But the opposition is so fierce because it’s difficult to do it if the car wasn’t designed that way from the beginning.”

They were happy when their EBD worked so perfectly with their design.

[Mod edit: Footage of Mercedes cars being overtaken adds nothing to this debate].

Does anyone over here knows that Nico joins the elite group of drivers with maximum number of races without winning a race :D .
He will be partnered by Mika Salo and Piercarlo something at 111 races.

Mark Webber took most races before winning a race at 129 races.

Doesn't Nick have that record?

Yup but, Mark Webber took most to win a race. Nick never won any.Nick drove 185 races.

I am hoping rosberg to fall in Mark's category rather than Nick.

Now we know why Lotus and Red Bull were so adamant in having the rear wing mechanism banned.

Nico kept saying they need to improve with race pace and it wont happen quickly through the weekend. It was just a bluff

 I'm a Schumi fan and I feel very disappointed. It seems that 2010 was only an one off for this Brackey team. They don't have the winning DNA at all.

Good performance by the team this weekend. Cars had the pace, and Rosberg set fastest lap at the end.
Schumacher taking the Red Bull's was a highlight. 2 stop was the only option for this team given the performance drop they suffered with tyre wear/deg.

Mercedes to rush through upgrades after Malaysian GP failure as Lewis Hamilton admits Ferrari win 'not a fluke'

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motors ... fluke.html

Wolff indicated that the team would now accelerate their development programme on the chassis, as well as assessing what improvements should be made to the engine prior to the next round in Shanghai a week on Sunday. The Austrian said: “We just need to analyse in the next couple of days where we went wrong, what we need to improve, whether we need to bring any developments forward, put them on the car quicker, what we are doing about engine number two. And assess that properly.

Mercedes explains brake-by-wire failures on both cars

http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/127 ... lures-cars

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff explained that set-up changes were made between Friday and Saturday after long runs in practice showed that Ferrari had an advantage on the tyres. The changes then put extra strain on the brakes resulting in the failures. "It is set-up issues and we knew the changes we made on the car were compromising a little bit the brake temperatures. We knew what we were doing. But then it was a hard race with lots of overtaking, especially in Nico's side, and then both cars struggled to make it through the backmarkers at the end of the race. The minute you follow another car or a couple of cars, the airstream collapses and this is why it made the brakes go."

Alonso admits he had talks with Mercedes when Nico retired, but they hired Bottas instead.

Wow, this is an old thread!!!

Now if Alonso managed that, it would have been great racing. Not that it was bad with Rosberg, I enjoyed it thoroughly, but as with many of your bad ex's, there's a past there with Alonso!

I wonder what happened, I'm sure that Hamilton wouldn't issue a veto against Alonso joining, so maybe it was the finances that broke the deal.

I'm not 100% sure really, more like a feeling as Hamilton was never shy of a good scrap.

It is funny though, as in 2012 Alonso was the one that was rumoured to have vetoed a Hamilton move to Ferrari (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/18542058).

This is like when Alonso had talks with Red Bull, who approached who?

If Mercedes wanted Alonso then they clearly could have signed him for 2018, 2019 and 2020, I'm sure Alonso would not have said no?

Hamilton said it wasn't his decision but mooted that if Mercedes thought it was bad with Rosberg then they not seen anything yet.

I think that Mercedes would have had to be in quite a desperate position to sign Alonso given rumours that Zeltsche didn't want anything to do with him.

The article brings back some memories like Dennis offering Hamilton a pay cut like he thought he was in the driving seat? :)

Interesting interview with Wolff:

At about 8:45 he talks about the first time he met Lewis and Valtteri.
