Former Wseries competitor Megan Gilkes finished 10th & 8th in Sunday's Champion of Donington FF1600 races. She finished 18s behind winner Josh Smith in race 1 but just 7s behind champion Alex Walker in race 2 at the back of the leading, nose to tail, group.

Maya Weug (Iron Lynx, 1m53.904s) & Hamda Al Qubaisi (Prema, 1m53.939s) recorded the 13th & 15th fastest times during the 2 day Italian F4 test at Monza.

Wueg's teammate Leonardo Fornaroli (1m52.739s) was fastest while Al Qubaisi's teammate Kirill Smal (1m53.081s) was second fastest. Yet another son of an F1 driver was 10th fastest, Lorenzo Patrese (AKM, 1m53.587s).

It's interesting to me that Smal has been consistently around 1s faster than Al Qubaisi at several recent tests despite Al Qubaisi equally regularly beating him in the UAE Winter F4 series.

Weugs time relative to Hamda is pretty decent given their relative experience.

There were a few female drivers in action this weekend but I'm not caught up yet.

Spanish F4's first race of the season at Spa saw Lola Lovinfosse (Drivex) & Emely de Heus (MP) finish 23rd & 24th respectively, last of the finishers. Both were a long way behind the pack, the first 22 cars were covered by 24s, LL & EdH were 14s & 19s respectively further back.

The race was won by Dilano Van't Hoff, runner up in the UAE F4 Winter series

The 2nd Spanish F4 race at Spa saw Emely de Heus (MP, +45.136s) finish 21st just ahead of Lola Lovinfosse (Drivex, +45.378s), this time both were closer to the back of the queue, 10s or so behind.

Dilano Van't Hoff led from pole to flag.

For those interested, you can watch live streaming and replays of Spanish F4 races here

LL & EdH had a good fight on track, passing & repassing several times, all be it 3s a lap slower than the leaders.

Van't Hoff had both races under control, the first after he took the lead, and especially the 2nd where he was managing his pace, simply speeding up when anyone got close.

Race 3 of the Spanish F4 championship at Spa saw 21 Lola Lovinfosse (Drivex, +10.743s) & Emely de Heus (MP, +13.530s) finish 21st & 23rd. Guilherme Oliveira (MP) has the distinction to become the first male driver to finish behind a female in 2021!

The majority of the race was held under safety car conditions leaving a final lap dash (if any lap at Spa can be considered a dash) which saw Georg Kelstrup (MP) cross the line first with team mate Van't Hoff second.

Although some way behind pole winner Louis Foster (Crypto, 1m36.027s) she was only 0.7s from 3rd.

Euroformula races 2 & 3 at Portimao saw Vivien Keszthelyi (Motopark,+29.963s) finish 9th just 1.5s behind 7th placed Enzo Scionti (Drivex) and 11th after spinning while again racing hard with Scionti.

American Cameron Das (Motopark) dominated again to record a hat-trick of wins. Jak Crawford (Motopark), whose 16th birthday was on race day and was therefore finally old enough to get a license, raced from the back of the grid to 7th just 2.5s behind 3rd placed Enzo Trulli (Drivex).

Hailie Deegan recorded her best result yet in Nascar's Camping World Truck (3rd tier) series when finishing 13th in Kansas, she had been running inside the top 10 before a late stop just before the final restart saw her drop to the back of the lead lap train. She finished 15th in stage 1 and 10th in stage 2, clearly she was strong all race. She was the 2nd Ford truck to finish and moved up to 16th in the standings.

Jennifer Jo Cobb was not running at the flag with an electrical issue, she was classified 37th.

Abbi Pulling (JHR, 1m22.2) qualified 2nd for the first British F4 round at a very wet Thruxton, just 0.1s off the pace of teammate Matthew Rees, both were 0.3s clear of anyone else.

In fact the four fastest times were all recorded by JHR Development drivers. The Thruxton F4 qualifying record is 1m13.055.

Her 2nd fastest lap gave her 4th place for race 3 tmorrow while she and Rees start last in the reverse grid race 2.

Abbi Pulling (JHR) finished 12th, a lap down, in the first British F4 round at Thruxton. 2nd on the grid she took the lead on lap 1 but was immediately up to 6s slower per lap than the fastest cars, clearly on the wrong tyres as were all her teammates who occupied 3 of the bottom 4 places.

I hope the person responsible for the tyre decision and the tweet that gloated about JHR's qualifying dominance might consider in future not singing until the fat lady has, at least, opened her mouth.

The race was won by James Hedley (Fortec) who was Pulling's teammate last year.

In the latter she was 4s behind Aidan Neate and 51s seconds behind Masson who won again.

Watching race 2 of round 1 of British F4 at Thruxton and saw probably the most dangerous single instance of driving I've ever seen!

Abbi Pulling, having started from the back row of the reverse grid race, was trying to take 7th place and was fully alongside a rival before being literally driven off the track by someone who, IMO, should not be allowed on a race track ever again.

Notwithstanding losing 5 places in the incident, Pulling fought back to 5th with a series of overtaking moves including one at the last corner.

The first run in very wet conditions saw her finish 25s behind race winner Rory Smith, in the second, although 16s behind winner Alex Walker she was in the middle of a train which saw 1.2s cover the 7 cars from 3rd to 9th!

Indeed, although Hedley currently only has the budget for 3 rounds, I hope her confidence isn't too badly hit.

Race 1 was entirely down to her team's choice of tyres, likely race 3 the same, there is no way she is 3s a lap slower than her rivals

She likely would have finished 2nd in the reverse grid race had she not been deliberately forced off the track early doors and she led race 1 briefly and held 3rd in race 3, before falling to the back as the wrong tyre choice became evident in both races,

I'm more concerned that what I saw last year with Noda is repeating itself, it seems that 15 year old boys treat female rivals with far less respect than they treat their peers, it's almost as if having a female driver in front of them makes their male reproductory organs smaller...

Whatever, IMO a Clerk of the Course needs to take action to prevent this escalating to the point that someone gets hurt

I haven't seen the incident yet but heard it was pretty blatant. I guess there's an element of intimidation and making your mark, but if they're over-stepping the mark it needs picking up.
There's something like another 30 races to run in total so plenty of time, but definitely not an ideal start and as you say not representative of her pace. Nice piece here
