My understanding was the Top 12 finishers were automatically eligible for the following year if they chose to. Hawkey finished 15th, so didn't go through automatcally but I'm not sure she even applied for 2020 - do you know if she did? She wasn't at the test sessions.Battle Far wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 10:42 amNeither did some of those who got 2020 (now 2021) entries, they chose to drop her even though she was clearly faster than some who were invited back whatever the table showed.DOLOMITE wrote:Was she? If I were the decision makers I might be embarrassed since she's the only W Series experienced driver who actually regularly won races and a series in 2020! OK it was Porsche Cup ProAm class cars (which are faster than F3 cars) but she was quick and competitive finishing on the Pro podium more than once. Given that each race offers £1000 to the ProAm class winner and £7k/Porsche for a year prize for the championship the incentive to win is strong.
Of course, this is just my opinion and since I'm not signing the cheques, my opinion doesn't hold much weight.
She's doing fine without it anyway.
