Aurelien Panis is doing FRenault 2.0 alongside Louis Deletraz, Roy Nissany is in Euro F3.

Tbh though, because they are all a bit mediocre so maybe that's why

Money! You can have all the talent in the world and you're basically stuffed if someone isn't funding your karting career as a child. Conversely, if you are a talentless heap of rubbish in the car, it won't matter if you're driving this year's Mercedes, the other guy will beat you.
Finally, being good at driving a racing car may be down to some genetic factors but if you adopt your mother's genes and she's not Lela Lombardi then you haven't got much chance

Louis Deletraz to move up to Formula 3.5 V8 next year with Fortec. Pretty impressive for a driver who looked so uninspiring in his first year of cars a while ago. Certainly has the potential to be a much better driver than his dad.

The nephew however threw a tantrum because he didn't want to go back out on track and his dad talked to him to calm him down and he went back out after a few runs and they all had fun together for another couple of hours.

I'm glad Sebastian is continuing in his dad's footsteps. He has the right guy encouraging him in the most supporting and positive of ways.

So how far did your boy go with the racing?

We ran for another year and a half (just shy of 3 total) but the company I worked for was sold to an investment capitalist firm who decided it was better to send work overseas, and so the downsizing got underway and I lost my job. As such we had to sell everything that wasn't immediately important for our everyday lives, so the karts went.

Besides, it seems like the tracks all got together to devise a business strategy to bleeeeeed racers of all their money and it got more expensive literally overnight and much of the costs accrued was on being forced to buy a new set of tires every time you participated in a race weekend, regardless of having brand new sealed sets you bought from them a week or two before. It became too much to pay the track fees and $500 every time out and the last straw for me was when I took the track for Q1 in my class and I blew a piston ring and had to retire for the weekend, and after rebuilding it the following weekend and showing up for the next race, having not just that brand new set of tires I was running when I blew my engine, but a second untouched set and they wouldn't let me participate unless I bought a new set of tires and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

My son is now 15 and tells me all the time he misses it (as do I) but he's growing really fast and is closing in on 6' and will likely be 6'4"-ish like many of my wife's family members, so IDK if he'll be able to fit in a race car unless we implement the Gurney Bubble. LOL He had several people scouting him at 2 tracks local to us but I needed to invest more money that at the time I didn't have, and the last 2 times I called them I got no callback so he would have to start from scratch, but that will have to wait until we buy another house this year at least. He won 4 Bambino races out of 7 we entered him in and then won 3 out of 8 races in the cadet class and never finished outside the top 5 outside one race where he was spun out by 2 kids who got overzealous and knocked him off the track and he had to retire.

It's funny because he isn't athletically coordinated for the most part, he throws a ball awkwardly, can't dribble a basketball, can't throw a football, can't play racquetball because he's so awkward, but he can ride Pro Scooters (the kind you see Lewis Hamilton riding in the paddock) and he has been able to drive so well after me leading him around the track for about 15 laps at slow speed and then taking him around faster for 2 more runs. These 2 things come naturally to him I guess, but he plays a VR game called Beat Saber that is difficult enough in regular mode (I have cat like reflexes and It's difficult for me) and he download really fast songs and then plays it on extreme and he beats the levels.

I used to deal with venomous snakes which is where and why I had to hone my reflexes but this is ridiculous!!!…
Though I think it would be an excellent tool for F1 drivers to use to further improve their reflexes.

You might want to consider adding JuJu Noda to this list, her father Hideki might have a pretty poor rep but he did try to qualify 3 times...

JuJu, 14, is to race F4 this season in Denmark, currently learning Barcelona

Enzo Trulli is going into Euroformula having won the Formula 4 United Arab Emirates title.

Lorenzo Patrese is off to to Italian F4 with AKM.

Not F1, but Sebastian and Oliver Wheldon are signed up to a program with Andretti.

I'm hopeful for those two, I'm sure Dan would be incredibly proud of his kids following in his footsteps.
