I do find it odd that we're seeing a lot of HAM in front of BUT. Given the last season I cant see HAM being ahead. I still dont think he's back in his happy place, and even if he is, Button was much more reliable and faster once he settled into that car.

lol impossible tell right now. But without car problems. RBR, Mclaren, Mercedes AMG, Ferrari should make it. Kimi from Lotus and probably FI car, is my guess :)

Why would you be surprised that people expect Hamilton to qualify better given last year when Hamilton outqualified Button 13-6?

OT:

1. Vettel
2. Hamilton
3. Button
4. Webber
5. Alonso
6. Raikkonen
7. Rosberg
8. Grosjean
9. Massa
10. Di Resta

Edit: I find it more odd that people think Button will take pole given he hasn't had a pole since his Brawn days.

Why can't you see Hamilton being ahead? I much prefer Button over Hamilton but trying to say he's faster than Hamilton is ridiculous, the other guy pulled you up on this and you told him to chill out  , how about you justify your arguments next time instead of coming up with wild statements, here's a fact: Last year's Qualifying LH 13-6 JB
That's like me coming in here saying Michael's going to start out qualifying Nico this year, it's not going to happen on a regular basis, out race perhaps but not out qualify, people make too much of a big deal out of Hamilton's season last year, it wasn't as bad as people try to make out even if he is an arrogant whining little *****.

Raikkonen and Massa, in that order, narrowly fail to make it.
I think some people are expecting far too much out of Kimi. Massa seemed to be the better qualifier back around 07-09, and I think his one lap pace will be very rusty. With that said, he won't have it as bad as MS did in 2010. His racecraft should be fine anyways and I think we can expect a solid points finish from him if the car is competitive enough.
Also, when a team admits they aren't in podium contention, I think you're looking at one car in Q3 at best. Teams are rarely that negative heading into the season.

I think you can't write Raikkonen and Lotus off to early. If anything they look in a stronger position than laste year. Their pace looks good and with Ferrari's apparent demise, there could be some extra Q3 slots available. True, Kimi may be a bit rusty after two seasons awaybut under-estimate him at your perril.

Perhaps, if anything, I'm overestimating Force India. I just think it's gonna be very tough for Lotus to be so competitive after their problems with the car, solid points finishers maybe, especially with Ferrari seemingly off the pace. But when so many people agree that Red Bull and McLaren are the clear front runners and then you have very fast drivers like Nico and Alonso somewhere behind them, Kimi will have his work cut out in quali.

As we have seen with MS, it's very difficult to be right on the pace. Kimi has some advantages that Michael didn't - He's been driving and racing, hasn't had any injuries. But in many ways that could be an issue for him too, as he's been learning things outside of open wheel. Some seem to think Kimi is top 4. I'm sorry, but unless Red Bull or McLaren seriously disappoint, P4 will never happen.
Like I said I will never underestimate the racecraft of a champion and Kimi's racecraft was truly exceptional. People like him don't forget how to get the best possible result on Sundays. But don't expect one lap miracles from him.
I don't follow F1 so I don't know what I'm talking about

Despite an ordinary year from Hamilton last year in comparison to arguably Button's best year, Hamilton was still ahead in qualifying 13-6, which likely would have been 15-4 if not for shenanigans in Monaco and Suzuka. Not many people would consider Button faster than Hamilton over a single lap.

Because Button only outqualified Hamilton 6 times out of 19 races:

China (Race 3)
Monaco (Race 6)
Britain (Race 9)
Singapore (Race 14)
Japan (Race 15)
Brazil (Race 19)

Button was better in the race, but Hamilton was nearly always quicker than him in qualifying throughout the season.

And the question was about qualifying, not the race.

My dream top 10 won't include the Red Bull drivers and Lewis Hamilton, the reason is Lewis is great at overtaking and is a joy to watch whilst fighting though the pack. If Red Bull for the 3rd year running have a dominate car I'd like to see them do the same...

O.K, I hope my top ten get's some approval...
