According to MTV3 he did run wets only and the fastest times were posted last minutes with slicks.

From Autosport site: "76 min: Raikkonen is told his car "clearly isn't working properly" with the team expecting grip levels to improve when warmer weather arrives."

What does it mean? He told them it doesn't work or they told him? WTF is going on there? Too much improvements and all of them disreputable? :?

May be their cars struggle a bit in the colder weather. they shall be fine if the temperature is higher in Qualy..

Raikkonen's Lotus wasn't shutting it's DRS automatically while braking, so he had to shut it manually. The team spent the rest of FP1 and most of FP2 trying to fix the car, but it seems like it's not just the DRS but instead there is a very serious issue with the Lotus.

Well done to schumi! Good P2 in addition to a good quali last race ruined by grosjean. Worried about kimi's steering problems. He has won at this track before so fingers crossed for quali and race!

What was up with Vettel? He was waving at Grosjean today and someone else as well later. Does he think the track belongs to him any given time? That too in FP session.
Grosjean was minding his own business taking a slightly different line (which many other drivers were taking) through section 2.
Somebody needs to have a talk with Vettel or this is going to create another problem down the line.

Somebody needs to have more sense. Grosjean was clearly slower then Seb and should have made way as all other drivers do. Will this bitching over Vettel ever cease, I wonder?

Eh? So what?
WHy should he give way. He was on his own program. He was just taking different lines. Same line that Schumacher, both TR drivers and many others were taking. He is under no obligation to slow down or make way in FP. It was not as if Grosjen was doing the slow aero runs on straights on racing line. He was doing his practice run. This attitude wont win him anything. It will harm only 1 person and thats vettel himself. If this continues to happen, there will be time when he will lose his cool on track one day and make mistake. What Brundle said was spot on, he thinks he has the right of way which is incorrect.

Faster driver has the way during the practice and quali sessions. It is normal and customary to give way if you impede other driver. Did you see Ham moving out of the way when Kimi finally had one of the couple of decent runs this morning? It is ordinary practice among drivers. If the driver's pace is close, then the one behind makes an overtake when he sees the opportunity but Grosjean was way slower and made it look like he was giving way and then shut the door. He did it twice before Seb raised hand. You noticed the incident only cause it was Vettel. Admit it and stop bitching, please, all that hatred towards Seb makes you look bad.

LOL stop assuming everyone who objects to Vettel's behaviour hates him. That makes you presumptuous. And open your eyes. And see it from the point of everybody else and not just top teams and drivers. (Not to mention so far Lotus has been a top running car)
Nobody is under obligation to give way right away. Most drivers stay well off line if they are doing slow test runs or are on slowdown laps. Before this happened, the commentators were commenting on exactly this thing how different drivers are taking different lines through those series of S curves in sector 1. Many drivers were coming off slowly from that section to get good run on the long straights for their test programs. How do you know that was no the case here. He may not yield if he intended to get a clean fast run on the straight in clean air.
Add to that Lotus were heavily fuelled for that run and were running long stints and not to mention he had a scare by taking a tight line at turn 8. Since then he as well as others doing long stints were avoiding sharp turn ins into the curves and were taking wider entry into the turn.
Drivers stay out of each others way most of the times, that does not mean it will happen every single time in FP sessions. Its a curtsy, not a privilege. Everyone has their own programs to run. Alonso held up Sauber until the start finish straight when clearly the Sauber was way faster than him. You didnt see them waving hands at each other. This is happening again and again. Happened last year as well.

Webber didnt move off the way of Vettel himself right away, neither did vettel himself yielded immediately when Williams and FI were trying to get clear run.
And ofcourse it will be noticed when its vettel. This is not the first time he did this. And he is under the spotlight. And he is getting caught behaving like that on camera at the moment. Not others.
Even button was disappointed for not getting clear run in FP1, but he was cool about it. Just aborted his run, a single line on radio to his engineer and he was in. Thats how mature drivers behave.

Its harming himself at this point. Not others. I dont like seeing championship contender drivers mess up and destroy their own season like Hamilton did to an extent last year. As a fan of F1, thats the last thing I want to see.

The things you say are true, but I've told you already Grosjean made it look like he was making way and then shut the door and did it twice in front of Vettel. He knew it or just wasn't following the mirrors. If he had done it to some other driver, the same reaction would follow. Raising hand in protest to other's actions is regular thing in F1. As soon as you admit you just notice this with Vettel you'll feel better. Your grudge and ways to justify it looks silly, you know.

Lotus will get nowhere with there complaints about the Merc DRS, but in my opinion none of them should be allowed to use the DRS in FP or Qually because it was intended to aid in overtaking only and as there is no need for overtaking in Qualifying why are they allowed to use it? It would olso stop the Merc being artificially high in Qually compaired to their race pace.

I still think both Lotus should be in top 8 come qualifying....

That thermal cam was pretty sweet. Hope they use that again without the bodywork on next time.
There doesn't seem to be much going on 9 minutes into the session.
Alonso looks a bit ridiculous with that hat and those sunglasses.

I think so haha.

Strange how Hamilton was limited to 313kph for what seemed like a third of the straight. I would guess he's running lots of downforce?

I'm going back to fp1/fp2 now but the flow viz paint on Fernando Alonso's car really helped (the part-time viewer) to distinguish between the two Ferrari drivers, so why don't they just paint the wing of one of the manufacturers car a different colour? I'm only saying this because i watched FP1/2 with my little brother and it was really easy for him to recognise which Ferrari driver was in the car.

Personally I can tell who it is the car by just looking at the drivers helmet, but I kind of like the idea of them having different colour wings.

aren't the differently coloured camera mounts on the airboxes done like that to help identify the cars? :?:

I knew somebody was going to say that and i was meant to included it my post, my brother kept getting confused by them though (he is young) until the Ferrari came out with the flow vis paint and it really helped him.

Edit: I'm fine with how it is now, I'm just thinking about the younger viewers.
