Turn 1 is usually notorious for close calls. Hoping Max & Lewis play sensible & don't tangle as this ace will be won with pit strategy. Doubt anyone can make a 1 stop strategy work. 2 stops will be the norm.

Bottas has his work cut out. He's got 5 fast drivers ahead of him.

So, who retires first from bump damage?

Hamilton needs to trust he can get the job done with strategy rather than an aggressive move into T1.

True. There aren't many races left. A DNF can be quite costly.

And here's Ocon's visor cam lap from Friday. Unreal.

I think if Hamilton gets a good start the fight over the inside line is going to be key. They way that corners configured if you can be the guy on the inside you can just over run and force your rival off track or into a crash.

Whoever can claim that inside line into turn 1 will come out ahead if either of them actually come out.

If you compared a headcam in Russia to a mounted camera above the cockpit in the usa, so the opposite way round, the difference would likely be night and day there too. You can still see Verstappen's head shaking around below in Russia.

It it obviously more bumpy here, but the 2 different methods of recording the footage are not really comparable.

We've already seen that Verstappen won't back out unless there isn't a chance of a pass. Hamilton running him wide on the outside of T3 in Portimao is the only time I've seen Verstappen concede to a defensive move all season.

With Mexico and Brazil coming up, Verstappen has even less reason to back down if Hamilton gets the better start on the inside line. Like I said, he will keep his foot in especially if Hamilton tries to pull a 2015 on him.

Hamilton has to win or I think the title is gone, the points difference will be just too much after Brazil. I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton is super aggressive like Silverstone and Max wont ever back down.

I think it's more accepting the inevitable rather than wanting it to happen in fairness.

Given how good Hamilton is at on the fly risk/reward analysis I doubt any Verstappen fan actually wants contact to occur. Predicting it is not the same wishing it.

I think RB 1-2. Reflecting on qualifying, Ham was reaching splitting the bulls and generally the merc looked like it was sliding around a bit relative to the bulls. Doesnt bode well for tyre use, imo defo a 2 stopper for the mercs. But can see RB matching it easy, even splitting strategy if perez stays 3rd after lap 1

If anyone likes a bet you can get Perez 11/1 for the win or Leclerc or Bottas at 33/1.

Any could be worth a punt.

What a Sunday, loads of football on and currently watching Utd get beaten badly, Moto GP and watching the beast MM plus Quartararo celebrations was good to watch. Now a 8pm F1 race to come, beers and a take away, just hoping for a Hamilton win to top if off

I wasn't comparing videos, just showing a video from COTA which was already bumpier than anything else on the calendar even back in 2019, and is now far worse than it was then.

The grid walk is back! Not the first time Brundle has been ignored by a Williams sister if I remember rightly.

Oh Brundle's grid walks are terrible. I have a feeling many like them, but he just runs around surely knowing that almost everyone he speaks to hate it. That said, these special celebs and their reactions to questions from the media are sometimes pretty hopeless. Just look like they have no interest in the sport at all.

I like the driver parts. Which is mostly how it started out. Now, with the general absence of drivers once they get the car to the grid, and the extra scheduling complications pre-race, it's far less interesting.

Bottas has gone to borderline useless mode again, I'm pretty dam sure Russell would have done better in Russia and America.

Ye merc will be hoping for better relative pace on hards, max, max looks comfortable here just wait for an undercut. Merc need to commit to the two stop and pull the pin as soon as theres a gap
