Russell lost the most places of anyone. I still think he has a problem regarding consistently getting decent starts.

Russell is the anti Stroll. Incredibly quick but poor on lap 1.

Need to see a replay. You can get a huge bottleneck around T1 and T2 in Spain, he may have had to back out whilst others on different lines didn't. Will wait and see.

bottas is losing time behind Leclerc, just like the start of bahrain. Hamilton and Verstappen are easily pulling away.

I may be a Ferrari fan, but Bottas still being stuck behind Leclerc is everything that is wrong with this circuit, even with DRS. He'll get him I'm sure, but should be well passed in term of the cars raw pace.

Fairly sure Hamilton has him pegged and will go for the better pit strategy.

If I was Hamilton I would just stay back from Verstappen and do the opposite when he pits.

It did get to around 1.8 seconds.

Giovinazzi's luck is horrendous this year... To me he's been slightly at least slightly better than kimi every weekend, but bad luck on his side often masks this.

Undercut more likely to get track position than a late overtake on fresh rubber.

Unless Lewis has a significant car advantage and thinks he can pass, he needs to stay back to preserve the tyres.

Agreed. We need a slow zone from campsa to the final chicane.

But If what martin brundle just said. We will see the safety car alot more with the sponsorship. Bad news.

What's next. Last lap. White flag sponsored by credit one bank.
The (insert sponsorship) Mercedes/aston martin safety car.
The Rolex restart zone.
The DHL victory zone.

I was more thinking to see if Verstappen goes for 2 stop or 1 stop. Redbull normally have a 1 second advantage in the pits anyway.

Yes, it's a worry that the safety car is sponsored. The marshals will carry sponsorship next and at least one car each race will be told to crash so we see them in action.

even with Verstappen possibly even having an advantage over hamilton, hamilton still is often under a second. But Bottas is a lot of the time over a second behind Leclerc. And Ferrari is clearly around a second off the pace of the leaders. Wonder if Bottas will do a 2 stop.

Maybe, but it's such a long race that there's no panic for Lewis at the moment.

Presumably, given which tyres suited which cars, we might see Lewis pit first, get the mediums, and Max will have to react to do the same. Then stop 2 sees another switch to mediums for Lewis, and Max returning to softs?

Tricky one of Charles. If Bottas was ahead and leaving him behind, Charles could perhaps lap faster than he is and be pulling away more from the pack. As it is, he may be being a little defensive which is often slower. Can't believe Bottas isn't going to beat him over the entire race.

Yes, but like a good game of chess, it's looking very tactical. (I'd rather have on-track action.)

Dont get me wrong. I enjoy the nascar (come on the #18) but its 2 different sports and 2 different disciplines. The restart zone works for nascar. As does stage racing. But the commercialization liberty are putting in place in formula 1. It's a dangerous situation and dangerous way of going. We could see restart zones or the dhl victory lane. Or something along those lines.
