Speedweeks 2021.

The superbowl has finnished. Tampa bay the superbowl champions and Tom Brady shown why he is the GOAT of the NFL.
But for me. The superbowl means that we are a week away from the resumption of motorsport. And speedweeks leads us into the week with the conclusion being the running of the great american race. Which is now (as of Monday) 6 Days away.
So the schedule for the condensed speedweeks is as follows.
Tuesday. The clash.
Wednesday. Pole day.
Thursday. The duels.
Sunday. The Daytona 500.
The clash this year is going to be held on the daytona road course. Which will be 35 laps. In 2 stages. 24 drivers have qualified for the race this year.
Aric Almirola, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Clint Bowyer, Chris Buescher, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, William Byron, Cole Custer, Matt DiBenedetto, Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Erik Jones, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano Ryan Newman, Tyler Reddick, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., Martin Truex, Jr.
It is expected 21 of the 24 will take up the start of the clash with Clint bowyer retiring to join the fox sports commentary lineup. Jimmy Johnson retiring to go IndyCar racing and Matt Kenseth retiring for a second time.
Wednesdays pole day will set the front row for the great americsn race. And also set the grid and which duel the drivers will race for there position in the duels the following night.
Thursdays duels will form the grid for sundays race. Duel 1 setting the inside and duel 2 setting the outside. So for example. Finnish 4th in duel 1. Your starting 9th. Finnish 6th in duel 2. Your starting 14th on the grid.
There is more than 40 cars in the field for the great American race. So if your not a charter team and in the top 35 in owners points. Your racing your way into the race. I don't believe there is any champions provisional this year. So that is 1 less thing to worry about
Sundays big race kicks off the season with 200 laps and 500 miles. Expect pack racing and several big ones. And alot of strategy and fords working with other fords. As will the chevys.
Can denny Hamlin secure his 3rd successive daytona 500 win.
