Seeing Romain getting out of that flaming cockpit like something out of a comic book movie was incredible to watch. He was in that burning car for a long time it seems. So lucky Romain!

If the race does restart wouldn’t they be better doing a rolling start instead of standing restart so there’s less chance of something like that happening again.

Turns 1,2 and 3 are asking for trouble in the mid pack
I hope not. A race start is just part of racing. Unfortunate that there was such an incident, but drivers just have to be sensible and find a way to not trip over each other. Just like every other race, and race starts

From what I see, Norris was squeezed between two cars (hence his front wing damage), Vettel had to take avoiding action and Stroll was a victim of that kn0ck-on effect. Looks as though some debris came at Grosjean's car - either from Stroll rejoining or perhaps Norris' wing at about the same time as the Alfa rejoining from his left plus the cars in front jostling and being relatively slow. Grosjean has reacted to that and, from what I think, misjudged his closing speed, jnked to the right into a gap which was not clear of Kvyat's front end.
Just my interpretation and I'm not absolving RoGro of any blame. Just happy to see him limp away from that.

New starting grid is taken from the second safety car line, which is the end of the pit lane according to Andrew Benson.

Poignant that they showed images of Verstappen giving his bootlaces a good firm tie, as Grosrean lost a boot in his escape from the crash

How have they decided the order? Bottas was 6th after the middle of turn 1.

After watching it again I have to see the majority of marshalls deserve absolutely no credit what so ever. Most just stood and watched. There is no way the doctor and driver of the medical car should beat the marshalls to aid a driver.

That's bizarre. The moment the accident happened Bottas was 6th and making a move for fifth. I can't see how they've arrived at a fourth place start for him.

Im gonna hold off criticising them till i know more, but it looked like most of the Marshalls don't have fire protection. The two that had heavier protection both approached the inferno.

The marshals were stood on the barrier side of the fire which meant they were fully exposed to the heat radiation from the inferno which would have been very intense.

The medical car had the armco barrier between them and the fire which would have drastically reduced how hot it was.

I think it's very easy to sit on an arm chair and criticise.

for people moaning about Bottas's gains, Vettel is now 10th and was 15th. There has been a reason given for this.

There were also marshalls from the otherside of the track that WALKED slowly over the track and stood and watched holding their fire extinguishers.

I thought he went up the corner and was off track when they hit each other. But maybe that was because Stroll didn’t leave him any space.
