At least there's a replacement ready to go but I'm sad to lose Montreal of all places, especially with a field so tightly packed.

Japan will be fine if the Olympics goes well, and that is uncertain, but for that Australia race to take place following Brazil a few things will need to change over the next few months.

Yeah as it stands that date for Australia is unworkable. Brazil will either need to move forward a week, be dropped or Australia will need to move back a week for the race to comply with the current 14 day quarantine requirements in place in Australia.

Reading rumours on social media that Turkey won’t be going ahead, possible that a Paul Ricard double header would make up for it.

Yup. Unless they decide to run a really weird configuration!

Turkey is postponed/cancelled, not sure which.

France is now a week earlier and there will be two Austria races again, making a triple header at the end of June/start of July.

https://twitter.com/f1/status/1393189855220277249?s=21

Edit: seems postponed as the promoter has asked to see if F1 can find a slot later in the year. Mexico, Brazil and Australia in late October/early November all seem to be in doubt so it might fit in there.

Four races at the Red Bull Ring in 364 days. This is surely a unique record.

Wishful (wild, actually, as it's just not feasible!) thinking, bout wouldn't it be nice if they could break out the old Österreichring circuit for one race?

Red Bull do actually want the longer circuit restoring but I don't know how viable it is.

Qantas has postponed its return to international services from 31st October to 20th December. Obviously that’s an airline specific decision but if it reflects the general consensus within the Oz travel industry, they may not be expecting international travel to be allowed for the period covering the current Melbourne GP.

Might be a move to try to scare the Australian government into seeing how long they'll be losing out on tourist dollars and pushing for an earlier return to normal, but I've got a bad feeling that's not the case.

Sounds like Singapore is going to be cancelled for the second year in a row. F1 assessing options for a replacement.

Also saw a headline this morning that any F1 personnel going to Netherlands in September will need a vaccine.

It's probable there may be double header at COTA to compensate for the cancelled Singapore Grand Prix.

Perfect opportunity to use the shorter version from turn 6 if that's the case.

Why though, it cuts off the hairpin, and takes away the straight leading into T12 where we've seen plenty of action.

They could add Qatar, Dubai, and the new Kuwait track - that would make 6 Arabian desert tracks. The money is there.

Honestly I'm surprised they aren't using the outer Bahrain circuit to replace Suzuka. Especially if that TBC is definitely going to be Qatar.

Qatar does not look like a good circuit for F1 (just my opinion) racind - I'd prefere to see the outer Bahrain circuit as well.

I was assuming both would be feasible. Losail is a good track, but realistically it was designed for bikes.

Would be a good opportunity to give all of the fans at the August race some value for their money spent.

Any ticket for the August race is good for the next race also.

Don’t know the detail but apparently another issue for COTA is visa issues. F3 apparently moving their final race to Sochi to avoid it.

Turkey will be off the red list as of next week so that GP should be no problem. I hope they’ve sorted the track surface out…
