There's a very good chance for atleast 1 safety car outing. Thanks to the gravel traps all around.

The leaders are also going to suffer a lot more when they start to lap the cars. Narrow track with flowing corners.

Agree about the safety cars.

Surely you mean that the back markers are going to suffer a lot more as they have an obligation to let the leaders through ? Or do you think that they will forget the rules ?

Another Merc benefit race is my (un)bold prediction. The fight for 5th place will be most interesting

So who committed the crimes then? Stroll spun Sainz around and it seemed like Kimi caused then squash with Gasly and Grosjean and then ran into Verstappen.

Too bad, Verstappen probably could've been 2nd in between the Mercs after the start. Would've been an interesting race.

Not sure about Sainz as yet. Yes, he spun after contact with Stroll, but my initial feeling is that Stroll was nice and wide and Sainz didn't hug the inside enough and went out into Stroll. I need to see it a few more times really.

Was Verstappen's problem the cause of the crashes?

10% of the race squandered not racing already.

Max's crash just meant his race finished a few corners earlier than it would have done anyway. Fairly sure his car wasn't functioning properly at all.

I thought it was Sainz on the outside. Could be wrong though.

Remember those distant days when races were restarted if there were such problems in the first 2 laps? I sometimes wonder how F1 got so lost.

Come on, red flag this. We’re going to have about 3 laps in this race otherwise.

Right. Restarts after safety cars need to be done like rolling starts. The lead driver should not dictate when they all accelerate. They should all be cruising to the line and then the green light goes on. This is pathetic.

The leader dictates when the race starts not the cars at the back.

I'm going to put my flag in the ground here and say Bottas didn't do anything he didn't have a right to do. The back markers misreading the situation is on them.

Cooper, Arrows, Brabham, Ligier, Lotus, Tyrrell, Minardi, McLaren, Sauber, Williams,

Remember the garagista's. The heart & soul of F1. They raced to race.

But shouldn't, in my opinion. I'm sure a rolling start would be safer. I can't remember the last time the lead driver was going so slow up to the start line like that.

Amateur hour...
I don't think we'll seee another Mugello GP. Or may be when the drivers get a true racing licence.

Then Giovinazzi caused this. That was seriously dangerous and a significant penalty should be applied.

What Bottas did was stupid. Even if he did not break any regulation, still it was stupid. Never seen a pilot do this, on the start line in the moment the safety car leaves.
People have to understand that things happen in split of a second and a lot of things are done by instinct and by expectation, that's what the backtrackers did, at one moment, actually Hamilton was so close to Bottas, when LH sped for a second that I thought they would hit.
Bottas doing those "warming" moves in a "slow motion" at the start line on the opening moment was stupid, even if by the rules.
