Bottas all 4 wheels off on his fastest lap, bring in a draft of rules that the stewards don't have the competence to police.
Yep.

Looked awfully like Vettel last year. Didn't check the behind camera.
Apparently they only used the onboard camera which as we can see isn't fit for purpose to police the rule, the incompetence has no bounds.

It was indeed Grosjean

pretty cool helmet. the cardboard "fans" in the stands are kind of cheesy, but it cost a minimum of 40 bucks that goes to a charity. and vettel took pictures of the 76 team members and they are all "in the stands" nice gesture

Hamilton should be under investigation as well, he took an unnecessary risk there, his driving there was just to get the others a penalty or worse he could have lost it on the grass and caused a Spa '12 like accident.

Don’t disagree that Hamilton should be under investigation as you could argue he was driving dangerously, although you could then argue he did that because the others were going unnecessarily slowly, but why would he be driving ‘just to get the others a penalty’?

Do you genuinly believe Hamilton through that through and decided to go on to the grass at speed because he wanted to get them all a penalty? Is he worried that those called to the stewards a likely to pip him to this year's WDC?

I still think both Haas drivers should have more of an excuse (not sympathy maybe) than other drivers given we know that the team never seem to warn their drivers of approaching traffic. Both magnussen and Grosjean seem worse than others for this in the race and practice - and I think it is far more the teams fault than theirs.

He could see everyone in front of him it was a straight, not like he suddenly came up on them at a blind corner, also there were two cars going side by side and he tried to go around.

He could have slowed down but chose not to.

If George Russell could avoid it in FP2 I see no reason why Hamilton did what he did there.

Right, that doesn’t mean he was trying to get them a penalty. He has no need to. It’s laughable to suggest the guy leading the world championship by 47 points would want to get drivers in the middle/low part of the grid penalties.

If there was only a single like of slow cars, the drivers coming up at speed know to take to the other side of the circuit to pass. The fact Hamilton saw another car pull to the right probably, like me, made him think that car was going at a decent speed too. The fact it was also crawling along caught Lewis out in my opinion.

1. You’re probably right. As I said in my first reply, you can definitely argue that what Hamilton did was dangerous. (EDITING to add that I’d argue Hamilton had to do what he did because of the drivers going slowly ahead)

Maybe the fact a new directive was given, also he was not on an outlap whilst everyone else was on their outlap about to start the lap, in fact if you keep that in mind it was a case of him going too fast and impeding them.

Or those driving for or managing teams, because they are supposed to have a very high level of ability and experience, could work out that 10 cars in a small bit of race track doesn't give you fast lap times. It's really not complicated.

They need to stop waiting and just go for it.... A slightly slower time is better than a terrible one - and you likely will still be able to improve a little. They are waiting too long. Practicing for the repeat of Q3 last year.
