Re: Official Official Threads Thread
Is that really an official thread? Granted it has a lot of fans, but I'm not sure that's enough to make it official...

as official as you are likely to find on an unofficial forum

Not when it's the one that has hardly anything in it, when the original has a lot more content. Still, not an official thread.
Re: Official Official Threads Thread
This "official" thread nonsense is killing the forum, others must think the same because it is dead in here compared to how it used to be...I have been posted here over 10 years.
A prime example being, I just saw a thread title "Silverstone weather" which I opened as I was genuinely interested but it had been closed after one post with the Mod stating there are plenty of Silverstone threads this is being locked. Why does every post have to be in an official thread. It makes browsing the forum a much poorer experience. I wanted to speak specifically about Silverstone weather not go through a Silverstone thread with people talking about many things and my posts getting buried pages back.
No news catches your eyes because its locked away 2 pages back in an official thread somewhere. Thread locking and directing everything to official threads is killing the experience here and making it harder to spot genuine breaking or latest news.

Re: Official Official Threads Thread
News threads are as common as ever. What we are locking are the duplicates, unless there is an inconsequential thread opened which can be put in an official thread.
There were 4 threads regarding the Silverstone weather. One was locked, and at least one was deleted, because duplicates clog up the forum worse than the official threads.
I think much of what has hurt the forum was the removal of the old threads, and all their posts.

I don't think there's an issue with that as long as they also post a link directing you to said thread.

Why do they keep calling it Barca? It's Barna or BCN, Barça is just the football (and Basketball) team

Re: Official Official Threads Thread
Here are some more that could probably go in the Off Topic (not all have the word 'Official' in the title, but they are effectively that (maybe it could be added):

Re: Official Official Threads Thread
Any way the GP2/GP3/WSR thread can be added to the OP as an 'Official junior formulae' thread?

How about the F1 Q&A thread?
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9206
Should it be a official thread / sticky thread / none of the above?

Wrong thread
but otherwise, I think it's a time zone thing that has knocked itself out of kilter.

Re: Official Official Threads Thread
As suggested in another thread Vandoorne doesn't have an official thread yet. Not that he's had much running to discuss yet, but still.
