Here's the results from qualifying:
Russel (not slowing under yellows) and Kvyat (gearbox change) both have 5-place grid penalties.

And this is what tyres they have left:

So a easy 1 stop. Medium to hard.

If there is a late safety car. Bottas in the driving seat with a extra set of mediums.

Does hamilton have a extra set of sorts avaliable that went through a warm up cycle when he went out at the end of q2 or was that a used set.

If they are going a step softer for next weekend that could be interesting as they can't even get a full hot lap out of a set of softs this weekend.

They will be the mediums next week so could even be three stops.

It’s supposed to be hotter next weekend too. 29c on Saturday and 25c on Sunday according to BBC.

interesting. Sky using Channal 4's DC to intervew Norris. Is this because Channel 4 coverage hasn't started yet?

Well they couldn't push through a reverse grid race so make it a race on joke tyres instead.

It never takes long before you lose count of the number of times Webber says "mate" :D

Supposed to be moving back to Manchester in September and it’s just gone into a local lockdown. Bad timing!

It wasnt sky coverage. It was what would be the drivers parade.
It was shown on youtube live as well and DC and JB were ones who were doing I interviews. I didnt watch alot of the pre race show on you tube. But I imagine Lee Mackenzie and natalie pinkem would also be doing interviews if they are there and avaliable.

What a shame for nico Hulkenberg.

Talk about bad luck. Also for us. We lose a big point of interest, seeing how well Hulkenberg went.

Well that is a shame that is nothing to do with Hulkenberg beign unprepared. It is very rare that a car can't even start and it just happens to be his.

I don't see it as really his fault there? Both going round the corner and their trajectories were always going to take them the same place. Albon was alongside all the way into the corner. it was a legit gap.

If we really have to have a safety car for every stopped car then we really need the marshalls to step up their efficiency. We can't lose 10% of a race to clear one car.

And now this safety car takes any element of strategy from the race.

Also... How did the top 4 maintain their advantage?

If the hard tyres last to the end. I think everyone was going to do a one stopper before.

Well Kvyat seemed to sound very sorry for that incident, but that looked unavoidable to me. Very unusual.

Sure but at least people would have come in on different laps and we would have had undercutting and people having fresher tyres later in the race.

This is taking far too long. We've already had 20% of the race lost to the safety car. No other sport would fans be expected to tolerate such a corrupting factor in the name of "safety"

Strongly disagree with the Albon penalty. You may as well say you aren't allowed to try and overtake at that point of the circuit.

I'm defending Grosjean again, but was that move on Sainz seriously black and white flag worth? Bottas did a very late change of direction with Ricciardo in China 2018. And so have many other drivers. I don't see what Grosjean did as being that bad. Looked like reasonable hard defending to me.

While I love the fact that Sky shows F1 flag to flag with NO commercials - as an American, I can't stand any of their commentators and miss Bob Varsha, Sir David Hobbs and Steve Matchett.

First one was marginal. The Ricciardo one was reckless given he already had a warning. Just moving way to late. And he's checking the mirrors. He knows what he's doing.

It's very odd that after warning Grosjean not to do something it's not a slam dunk penalty when he does the exact same thing again.

Really poor performance from Stroll today. That car should at least be challenging Leclerc for 4th not back in 9th.

Bottas does seem to be dropping off a lot now. Maybe it was him trying hard earlier on or just backing off due to the blistering.
