Best bet would probably be mediums though and go as long as possible because there will be any excuse to bring out a safety car after last weekend.

Verstappen might be in luck today (reliability pending). I suspect Hamilton may have quite a draggy setup.

Grosjean's bad luck is beyond rediculous now. Hass breaking parc ferme rules meaning he has to start from the pit lane. This pretty much indicates the fault with the car from yesterday was pretty serious unless another fault occures since. Hass seem so messed up with reliability at the moment on both cars, but the vast majority of the problems have gone to Grosjean in the past 18 months or so. Really does not help with his reputation as too many people judge his issues as being his fault.

Quite a valid point about Grosjean. When he has a decent car, and is in a happy place, he is right up there. Unfortunately, when things don't go so well, I have a feeling that his shoulders drop.TheGiantHogweed wrote:Grosjean's bad luck is beyond rediculous now. I hope that Haas do sort the car out. Both drivers deserve better.

Someone on racefans said that Leclerc may have a monaco 2019 about him. So true that was....

No action on the Ferrari incident.I know it was a first lap thing but wasn't that just clumsy from LeClerc? COnsidering Hamilton's penalty from last week...

Re: 2020 Styrian Grand Prix Race Thread
remember that first lap clashes are often not punished as harshly. Plus think about Hamilton vs Rosberg spain 2016, Verstappen vs Ricciardo Baku 2018, Vettel vs Leclerc brazil 2019. Team mate collisions so rarely get investigated further.tootsie323 wrote:No action on the Ferrari incident.I know it was a first lap thing but wasn't that just clumsy from LeClerc? I always find that odd. Presumably incidents are investigated because of dangerous driving. Does it somehow make it NOT dangerous when it's between teammates?TheGiantHogweed wrote:Team mate collisions so rarely get investigated further.

Yea i don't understand it either, but it is a consistent thing it seems. Same with Grosjean and Magnussen in britain last year which comes to mind too.SmoothRide wrote:I always find that odd. Regarding the latest with Vettel and Leclerc, That was incredibly obvious that Leclerc walloped into Vettel, which looked far more clumsy than what vettel did last weekend.
Re: 2020 Styrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Martin confused things by immediately jumping on Seb as usual. At least Martin apologized this time when he realized that it had been an obvious brain dead moment by Charles.cmberry20 wrote:Sky commentators don't have a clue which Ferrari hit who. Even after multi camera angles

Yup. If you know your team-mate is on an alternate strategy, why hold him up? I'm not saying jump out of the way, but don't defend to the hilt.F1_Ernie wrote:Completely ruining Ricciardos strategy.lucifers wrote:ocon vs riccardo

Unless Bottas is planning to go longer than Verstappen, his pace doesn't look good given that I thought Red Bull were nothing like as strong here. Although to be honest, Verstappen isn't much slower than Hamilton.

Covering off Verstappen, presumably. Though I thought they may have had at least an extra lap in hand before making that decision.F1_Ernie wrote:Why did they pit Hamilton?

Try to prevent an undercut, I imagine. But I don’t think it was necessary.F1_Ernie wrote:Why did they pit Hamilton?
Re: 2020 Styrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Albon is such a waste in that Redbull, if they had a decent number 2 they would be ahead of Bottas after the pitstop and be able to hold him up.

Perez already DOTD anyways. He started well down in bottom five I think?

May be in the best interest of Seb to wait out a couple of races to see if Red Bull get impatient.F1_Ernie wrote:Albon is such a waste in that Redbull, if they had a decent number 2 they would be ahead of Bottas after the pitstop and be able to hold him up.
Can't help but think it's either Red Bull suiting Verstappen's style or Verstappen just being the next Senna/Schumacher that's causing the gap, rather than Albon/Gasly and therefore Gasly's apparent slow pace.

come on perez lets get albon
Re: 2020 Styrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Not a great race from Bottas is it? It shouldn't be marginal in regards to beat Verstappen.
Re: 2020 Styrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Loved Perez's move on Daniel. Very decisive.
