Is F1 official site a con?

Had a 30 day free trial to see archive videos - but after just 2 weeks it limits access to just current videos - so shonky
Hopefully others 'won't' try to join this shonky site

I stopped using the official site as my main F1 updates years ago ever since the interface changed. I don't find it user friendly at all. It seems rather cluttered and far more difficult to find certain things out. And a great deal of what used to be there is now hidden behind a pay wall. It almost sounds like they made it worse for those they don't pay, and even when you do, I'm guessing it still will be worse than it used to be.

A month of something free and 'still gotta grumble about it.....

A lot of major racing series provide free videos of past races. Why should I pay to watch a race when I can watch a lot more for free?
Understand this: even Formula One needs to fans to survive. So why are you licking their toes in subservience?
